Description
The Pouch Ornkey is a fanmade extinct Ornkey species on serina. It was related to the Peraxils. It survived longer than other ornkey species, beacuse it was a highly adaptable omnivore but died out eventually, because it was too dependent on the forests that succumbed to the worsening mid-ultimocene ice age.
They were functionally extinct a few thousand years after 265 Million+2000 Years PE, when trees could no longer grow outside of the windbreaks. At that time they were ekeing out a living by stealing food from the trees of the woodcrafters, which got increasingly difficult. They finally went extinct between 265 Million +9800 Years PE and 265 Million +9900 Years PE, beforehand they were clinging on in increasingly fragmented pockets and at extremely low poulation densities, as a result their genetic diversity was ruined and in the end they were scattered around to such a degree that the remaining singlar individals would not find mates anymore despite tarvelling considerable distances! The exact extinction date and is unknown, but it is likely that the last of them ended either in the traps of social Gravediggers, as pressure to hunt them to preserve the increasingly scarce food source for the woodcrafters increased, or maybe the last of them died of old age or of starvation.
Life on serina goes on of course and their closest surviving relatives as of the early hothouse age are the seraphs, which are placental birds too.
