Description UPDATE: Hey transfans! Do you like my Transformer humor, but can’t understand why I taint the rest of my gallery with filthy hyooman characters? I’ve opened up a NEW gallery that’s one-hundred percent robot rousings. Transformer jokes will still be uploaded to this gallery as well, so if you like my general jokes then there’s no reason to watch the other site. So if you’d like to follow along Optimus and gang thru transfunny misadventures, head on over to Cappitron!

====================
Cappy’s Rockin’ Rendition
====================
Come now, even the most diehard fan could question the perplexing decision of them picking vehicles that consist of almost forty percent glass.
Advanced beings you say, huh?

Glass in general is moronic on cars and trucks. Sure, Ford “fordified” the first vehicles with glass windshields, seeing as they probably got to top speeds of fifteen miles per hour. But now, with rocks ricocheting at sixty miles on the freeway…in fact, I’m sure DUST can shatter the crap quality glass in my car at such speeds. Why not plastic? Why not even saran wrap? I’d rather have to role that out than having shards of nuked sand explode into people’s faces when they get into an accident!

Heck, lemme go on a bazonkers tanget now. The bumpers on vehicles are also a waste of space. What’s the point of these things protecting your car when the slighted nudge causes the things to crumple like a strung-out model who didn’t eat her daily meal of a broccoli stem on half a Ritz cracker.
Do you know what’s in a bumper?
Styrofoam.
And shoddy American engineering.
And probably a dead baby seal.
What I’m trying to say is that their ingredients are baffling. Why aren’t these things made out of…oh I dunno…rubber, like BUMPER CARS, and then vehicles would have a chance of bouncing back unharmed.

Oh, well. At least Ironhide can now do Breat Fire! Except he probably can't control it... So, that'd be more like MAP Breast Fire. XD

I confess that the title, also being the title of a song from "Jem", threw me for a loop here.

And I always figured the glass windows on their chests were just their way of dressing skanky. Yes, that includes Prime, because NOTHING IS SACRED! (And Alpha Trion is a dirty old man for designing him that way.)

I picture the Transformers being very materialistic and superficial, always bragging and showing off the newest upholstery of the week.

Hm. Then I wonder what Bumblebee's excuse is, since his interior is pink... er, "lightish red".

You make a good point. I suppose it doesn't help that on some of the toys, the areas behind the "glass" is hollow.

Ironhide has a fire burning inside, violent, unrelenting, so much so that the world can see it. That's some romantic stuff right there!

(Airbags cause more harm then good, especially if you're a short person, that's why my dad who works in car insurance disables ours when possible).

Part of engineering today is them being cheap bastards, but part is trying to improve. Want to know how we get better gas milage? Our cars are lighter. That's the main secret (though aerodynamics and such also play a role of course). Why do we still use glass? Because it does infact hold up better to the harsh elements that our poor autos are subjected to, while it cracks and shatters normally a film is used to make it less dangerous and what has caused it to shatter and possibly cause injury normally poses more of a threat than the glass. Think about it, to really shatter that windshield something is going to have to come directly at you with a HUGE amount of force or you have to rocket through the windshield (normally because the human torpedo wasn't wearing their seat belt).

And cars have a lot of superflous stuff on them, bumpers, fins, computers better than nasa has, etc... But that's part of the art of them and really bumpers are there now because its weird to see a car without one. The steel ones back in the day served a purpose, to provide a shield for important/explosive parts though.

Sorry, had to say that, I just talked to my dad this morning since I had to tell him I was nearly rammed off the road again by some idiot merging into my car. For the second time this week. Before harping on cars, hit up the drivers first. And your comic rocked, I love Ironhide's face as the flames SPEW forth though, its so "OMG IS THIS WHAT CARLY FELT LIKE GIVING BIRTH TO DANIEL?!"

>.> No 'Hide, its just heartburn!

*cricket cricket* Cheap, I know.

Yeah? Well try using your ginormous brain to explain that if we have this advanced glass technologies, then why are we still making dishes and plates that'll shatter just by looking at them.

Tradition... and cheapness. Fine crystal and porcelain are actually rather specific recipes and then cheap stuff is meant to be mass produced and workable not perfect. Plus one company makes shatter resistant dishes (I think its Corningware).

And how do you know Riddler is my favorite Batman villain?!

lol it doesn't have a lock as that gives it away as a diary. But hey, you know odd body factoids, I know freaky manufacturing and history stuff, why not share it like weaponized hallucenigenic drugs at a party?

Oh, and if you ever need to know anything about burial traditions in Texas, I think I officially reached expert level on that.

I kicked a pretty good crack in my dad's windshield when I was about 11 with very little force. Hopefully what he said about those things being reinforced in such a way that makes them more resistant to damage from the OUTSIDE is true, otherwise those things protect us little better than a net made of silly string.

Lylix In reply to stripedwine [2008-12-01 14:27:44 +0000 UTC]

But did it shatter? Sure they crack (and they are made to be stronger on the outside) but it normally takes a lot for it to shatter. And if the car was older... well, since Tucker got run out of town in the 40s safety kind of took a backseat in engineering.

Ouch... That design flaw has crossed my mind in the TFs. Mind you, maybe it's not made of the same kind of glass as a normal car window is so it's more durable.

SeishinKibou [2008-11-29 12:45:25 +0000 UTC]

So true, so true. People have gone cheap and build cars out of thinner and cheaper materials rather then the materials they used wayyyyy back. My brothers VW Bug is more durable then the family car....but..probably lacks the ..safety of airbags...>_>;
