If there is a Videogame Hell, surely I am destined for it. Don’t do drugs kiddles. And if you’re still going to, make sure you don’t do it with crazy people…like, for example, an ex-assassin who was mentally molested by a guy dressed in bondage gear. Rubber Gear is infinitely more terrifying than Metal Gear.

Do you remember a time when Sonic The Hedgehog incarnations were a little more… polished? There used to be a time when people would shout from the mountain tops
“Sonic?! Hells yeah! He’s a million times better than Mario!!”
But now it’s become more
“You like Sonic? …Ha, why?!”
I was walking thru Target and I happened upon a DVD collection for the Sonic The Hedgehog morning cartoon series back in the 90’s. It was based off of the Archie comic series, with a bunny, a French fox, a walrus, and an inappropriately shapely squirrel as his friends (I still have a buttload of the original comics). I always had a soft spot for said cast, and with the temple of “DETH 2 AMY RAWR!!!” pictures I’ve seen, perhaps Sonic Team should have opted licensing those characters instead of their current trend of “okay, now let’s recolor Sonic…but make his head…um, a snowflake, and call him Silver!!”
Heck, even fan characters show more originality than Japan’s attempts.
And I tell you what, 80’s and 90’s animation for kid cartoons are better than what passes for serious Japanese animation nowadays (I imagine Sonic X will be on a continuous loop in Videogame Hell).

Let’s see, a lot of game geekery going on here:
One of the lyrics for the awfully catchy theme song from my new DVD collection is “Sonic! He’s the fastest thing alive!” and I assume that such puns have been hammered to death in Sonic X as well. I just now realize that ‘alive’ and ‘.45’ rhyme. I’m so unintentionally talented.
Fun fact: Did you know hedgehogs bleed spaghetti sauce? It’s true! It has to be true, otherwise that would imply I’m incompetent in blending watercolors.

Solid Snake apparently pops a technical boner and goes on a tirade in bragging about gun specs in one of the Metal Gear games…he also hunts down and gobbles woodland creatures for stamina, so…

Mario is a game chock full of mushrooms and pipes; who HASN’T heard that this game series has oodles of drug references? I feel kinda bad that I drew the 1UP mushroom screaming.
No I don’t.
(I also picked up the DVD collection of the Super Mario Bros. Super Show; Captain Lou Albano, you will always be my choice voice for Mario)

I still love the Genesis Sonic, and really this joke was only illustrated to play on the quirkiness of the three characters. If the only thing in your comment is how the Hedgehog would win in a fight against Snake, then first off, no, and secondly congratulations, you’re the reason Sonic Team keeps making mediocre garbage without remorse.

The characters, of course, belong to Sega, Nintendo, and Sony…Sony being the least likely to sue me over this image.
