12/2018; Graphite; 28 x 43cm"A breeding pair of Edmontosaurus annectus are startled by a male Tyannosaurus rex trying to find shelter from the tropical thunderstorm coming in from the sea. A trio of Struthiomimus altus also seek shelter."
My tribute to Zdenek Burian. It is based on his "Tyrannosaurus and Trachodon". Rather than just simply updating the dinosaurs, I figured I would take the inspiration and run with it. This is also the first drawing I've produced following the advice found in Dr. Mark Witton's book 'The Palaeoartist's Handbook.' I highly recommend the book to any budding paleoartist like myself.
Update: I updated the drawing with some digital editing to help bring out the details better.

Now this is what i call art, the image showing herbivores being chased down by a giant dinosaur is very cool, i like this for its coolness.

The one problem is the lack of shading, i wish the dinosaurus had a bit more of it.This is still a really good artwork.
Theropods had large heads and used them to kill prey, many of the big ones had even bigger bite forces, many possed feathers and used them for shading and mating. T-rex is the most famous and its place in media such as this is quite and achievement.

Thanks for the awesome review. I agree with you on the shading, but it boils down to the use of graphite. In person, the shading looks much better. Since I scanned the drawing in order to upload it, the scanner's light causes the shading to get lighter. I tried raising the contrast using software. This helped a little, but could not eliminate it entirely. Overall, thanks for the review and I promise you that I'll get better. XD
