glad you like it! i allways use mirror and the subdevision surface modifier...helps a lot. i should use some reference images of real guns to add detail.

Oh mirror is one of my most used modifier and subdivision is pretty good thing to have too. And I think you do not need references. Because your model look awesome how it is
