"She had been out at work for quite some time now, done the same routine, done the same shunting, and now another day was at an end at the Brewery. With her fire still flickering, Jenny the little saddle tank backed her way onto her little siding next to the loading dock. Yes, she was a brewery shunter, back in the day when industries still relied on engines to move their precious cargo around their facilities and onto the mainline. Jenny herself was the common quiet sort of industrial, just get her job done so she could go onto the next one. As she began to drift off to sleep, her crew set to work bedding her down for the night. The procedure was simple enough, knock out the few flames with the fire poker, and spray down what was left with water supplied from a near by tap.

What the driver didn't notice was that as he had began to spray down Jenny's fire, an all too familiar aroma filled his nostrils, a tainty fizzyness that caused him to wrinkle his nose, as the smell got more and more intense, it became apparent as to what had just happened. " 'Ere Jake!" The driver called out to his young fireman "d'ja give me the hose from the left? ...Or from the right?..." He queried. "N'aw Greg, ye told me fetch the hose from the right yer told me" called back in his young northern accent. Greg the driver facepalmed once he put the fire out and set the hose down. "Och ya wee numbnuts!" He called, "You gone and given me the wrong blomen' hose lad! Just wait till I get mah ha-" But before another threat could be made from the rather cross driver, Jenny let out a bit of a disgruntled moan, giving signs that she was stirring awake, the driver quickly shrugged "Och, neva moind!" He shouted in a hushed tone, and pushing the youngin' through the exit, "Ah think Jenny's gonna have an experience she soon ain't gunna f'get...."

Jenny's eyes fluttered open to a strange feeling coming from within her boiler, and an odd smell and taste in the back of her smokebox, she smacked her tongue against the roof of her mouth in taste, trying to decipher what was the cause of the strange taste from within. She hadn't had time to think of what it was, as she could feel her whole beginning to flush nearly as red as her paintwork. "Oiy... What is..." she moaned, but then snorted into a fit of giggles, "What on earth is wrong with my buffers?" She asked to no one in particular, not that the little narrow gauge engines were gonna bother answering. "They can't even touch each other" She said in amazement.

On the sidings opposite, and a much more different gauge, the narrow gauge engines of the brewery muttered quietly, as to not attract the newly tipsy engine's attention, one trying hard not to laugh. "Oh lord, that young jake" one of the little engines chortled quietly, "Fancy that, mistaking the water hose for the beer filling pipe, HA! This is too rich...."
"Thats enough out of you No.15" the other elder engine scorned "Remember your first day on the job?" You took on beer instead of water..." He smirked a bit "Just be glad I was there to push you away from that pipe. Otherwise your funnel wouldn't be the ONLY thing that would be foaming, the other two engines laughed, leaving the younger one to only murmur.... "I don't get it..."

Finally!!! A semi-decent story!! HURRAAAAAAAAAAAAAR!!! A rather mature one should I add?... o.o... Oh yes, I was meant to be using my tablet wasn't I? Ah well... ya see... When college work is all finished and wrapped up, You're left rather bored of sitting around in a lab of computers with nothing to do, so, to tackle this problem, I decided to look up some unusual industrial steamers, sure enough I came across one of these unusual beasts... [link]

Turns out its a brewery engine, one of the narrow gauge ones to be precise, working the sidings along with standard gauge engines at of all places, "Guiness". And I found a pic of one of the SG engines that worked there, preserved, so I got to work drawing one This is a one off character, done completely because I was bored. Thanks and have fun
