Description
Reality is usually hidden behind questions. We cannot explain some of the amazing laws describing the universe. Those riddles can be solved to reveal the mysteries of our world, to find the magic even in the least expected place.---
This is a random OC designed for fun. If you would like to adopt him, give him a name and cutie mark just note me in comments.

Great art coupled with a thought-provoking description? Yes please!
Mad props for even using GIMP, yet alone getting something useful out of that awful program.

And I don't have a tablet. It's been done with a mouse.
I made something nice using all I've got.
I would like to improve quality even further but the problem is that i can't spend more my time and resources on art since I'm not planning to become an artist. I study biology and I will be a microbiologist (soon) so I kinda broke all the rules.

I guess after trying to use linux for art for a few years I'm rather resentful of GIMP. Mice are terrible things for art! Its impressive you managed such shading without a tablet.
That's like saying I shouldn't be studying physics because I'll be a graphic designer!
Honestly though, there are only a few things I personally think that keep this from being professional grade art. Its a shame you don't pursue this kind of thing more, but its your choice anyway.
Hurray for rule-breaking!

Isn't that cool to brake a rule?
Thank you very much for all the comments. I'm going to think about all of this. Maybe it's possible to combine art and science into something... interesting.

Breaking rules is paramount to change, so yea its cool.
I'd be interested to see what kind of art you could make with, say, algae or planarians. It seems there aren't a lot of ways science and art could mix. I would say they're both equally important overall, but for difference purposes.
Wow, we're not even talking about your pic anymore.

Talking about the deviation here is mainstream. Let's break that rule.
In fact art made of algae is a nice idea since they're not only green (Chlorophyta) but also red (Rodophyta) or blue (Cyanobacteria). Lichens also contain algae cells and they are a pretty complex group of organisms. Thousands of different shapes, sizes and colors give us unbelievable possibilities.
You can make art out of everything even out of planarians.
The other thing is that I don't have access to my computer because I live in a dormitory. I visit home only once a month and that's when I can make digital art. One weekend in a month.

Mainstream? Such a bland idea, I agree.
So there's RGB, a living painting sounds pretty awesome. I knew about the red and green, but the blue is new to me. I don't know of any artists that use microorganisms, the closest thing I've seen used is Wolfgang Liab's pollen. It would be an interesting idea to explore for sure.
Understandable, I guess. I don't do dorms though so I wouldn't know. You must really be motivated, to actually be able to create such great stuff in only a weekend. In my experience, coloring is one of the most difficult parts of art.

Awful? Why? I don't think so.
