Lovely looking motion. It has the movement of Walschaerts down perfectly. Does this game let you animate the reverser, or does it have to stay in neutral?

Im modeling this is blender, it is a 3d modeling program not a game.
And as far as animating the reverse yes but it is all in how the locomotve is scripted, and if the parts are able to move and rotate, which at the moment they are not. The goal is to get all that animated and working in train sim.

Yes, I know, I was referring to the train simulator you were porting it over to.
Ah, good. It's a nice feature that few models seem to have.

Blender is the program i usedΒ www.blender.org/ if you do not have it
it may be limted in what it can render unlike in maya but with the right knowledge you can make a excellently modeled locomotive

oi, this is quite, quite good. Β EXCELLENT work on the valve gear, the only critique I have about the whole thing is the lack of valve die-block, but that's pretty minor. Β
Good to see a finished ish product too

this is pretty solid codwyn, but see here you have the engine in neutral. The radius rod needs to move back and fourth as well. This engine would not be moving.Β
modify that and you have some really good work here. Also, it looks like your drive wheels need traction tyres! (they look really thin on the edges)

if i can figure out how to make the radius rod move depending on the Johnson bars position setting like how smokebox does that with his FEF-3 model i will defiantly do it XD
and yes the tyres seem abit thin and i will correct this.

oh codwyn,
i did not see the radius rod moving, but i see that it actually is. its moving in the correct way for the position the johnson bar is in. Good work sir. It was very slight. May i also add that you should put a die block in there for your expansion link?

you can do this. Talk to some of the people at dovetail about modelling the valve gear, and also how they went about getting and formatting the sounds for this thing. I take it she has no cabview yet?

no but there are controls in the cab (atm there is the Johnson bar, firebox door, throttle, sight glasses, and tri-cocks)
