And I'm not even hitting the limits of Blender yet...Awesome Ted Blaylock-style effects courtesy of CrazyBump. Any 3D modelers out there who do not use CrazyBump already should try it, it's fantastic.

It's not actually a modeling effect from Blender. I baked and textured the loco, plugged the finished texture into CrazyBump and exported the specular and normal maps from that program. That's how I got the shiny wave, you need the custom maps or else it just gives a bland, smooth default. You can show it off in renders by setting the spec map up as influencing all the specular sections - intensity, color and hardness - in the texture menu, and by setting up the normal as - you guessed it - a normal. To get it in game, however, the specular map texture should be removed from Blender - the Trainz importer can only do its job if it doesn't have a spec map to deal with. Once everything's exported, you add in the spec map as the alpha channel of the normal, to good effect.

One of my favorite "lost" locomotives. I just faved this and the No. 23 you did. I like both of them.
