East vs West. The Amon Vessel vs the Arch Deviant. A Demonic Battle to shake the very foundations of the Netherworlds themselves.I've had the idea for this picture at the back of my head for a while now and figured it was about time i had a go with two of my favourite characters by two respected authors duking it out. My money would be on Nemesis, but feel free to contest that one.
Devilman by Go Nagai. Nemesis by Pat Mills andΒ Kevin O'Neill. Art by me. Done in inks, photoshop with textures from my own photography, using the Toronto Aquarium for reference of an alien like landscape.Β My take on Devilman was mostly based on the original design including the 1987 OAV. The chitin armour look for his shins, feet and tail is reference to some of his more modern looks. Nemesis was a mix between O'Neill's design, Henry Flint, and a gentle pinch of John Hicklenton for the horns.

I'd say Nemesis has got the skill and extra few thousands years of experience at hand, but hey, not to knock Akira too hardly, he's got some firepower too.

Haha, I like this idea. Difficult to decide who would win, both Nemesis & Devilman are pretty much strong on the same level as one another. Great piece mate

They are pretty neck and neck. Asides from them being created by esteemed authors from across the world, i also thought it would be somewhat appropriate as well since Devilman and Pat Mills work in general are both anti-war stories.

You mean the original dark blue-black design with the white stripe and red patch across his chest and waste? I suppose so. If memory serves, the White stripe is an "M" for Maleborgia, the creator of Hellspawn.
