Apparently this is kind of an issue here on DA, so here's a short tutorial on how to convert DA Points into real money. <3
*hint: DA takes 20% of your money, so make sure you calculate that in the price of what you are selling or consider having them pay you through paypal instead.
If you use this feature you should make sure use the 100p = 1$ system when selling your stuff (adoptables, commissions, etc.) because otherwise you lose quite some money (however, you do so by using points as a currency in the first place).

Does it work by the buyer spending points and you receiving earnings?
Could you convert points you have to money by spending your own points into that button on, say, an alt account? Or would you get banned for that?

The tutorial says the exact opposite, though. It says to use the commish widget or premium content to convert. So if you use those methods, how does the payment end up in your Earnings balance rather than your points balance? Am I misreading something?

it says to use the commission widget or premium content if you want the points you receive to go to your earnings. But you'll have to wait for a bit until you can withdraw them through your earnings page.

help, I actually purchased something for myself with my other account, it says I have 25.00 in pending transactions, but now they are stuck in there and i cant get my 25 dollars out!

What if I were to give all the points I have accumulated through donations to a trusted user (irl friend) and than made a widget or premium content download for the price of my donated points I just gave them, so that my donated points are now "legal" am I able to convert those to money now?

any points not accumulated directly via the commission widget or through premium content "cannot" be turned into money. So I think officially donations are not meant to be turned into money. I understand that it's technically doable though (though not "legal")

|sub>Yes, you'll need Paypal. I don't think they have other options yet. But a Paypal account is free and pretty easy to set up. It makes your life easier if you don't have a credit card (or don't feel comfortable using it online).

I see, I'm looking to set up a pay pal account (like in my journal) but i've heard some things about pay pal can freeze your account w.e they think you violate or have too much money in your account and all. If you can and willing please let me know, I'm looking to do commissions this year. Thanks!

I think they only freeze it if you something like sell panties or something. I haven't heard of a single account being frozen among my friends. I'm pretty sure if you use it for commissions you won't get in trouble.

1. Crea algo que creas que la gente quiera comprar. Ej. Adoptables
Si no te gusta usar el "commission widget" (por razones obvias, como 20% de tus ganancias siendo reclamado por DA) también puedes usar este método para vender comisiones. Solo sube una foto de el estilo que estas ofreciendo (headshot, fullbody, etc.)
2. Ahora vamos a la parte importante. Marca las dos cajitas que se encuentran a la derecha ("Premium Content", etc.). Luego haz click en "continue".
3. Se supone que ahora puedas ver esta cajita ("Sell for:"). Escoge un precio.
Despuez de hacer esto podras ver un botón de compra ("Purchase Button") al lado de tu deviation. Los compradores deben hacerle click a este botón para poder pagarte. Lo único malo de esto es que no hay manera de saber quién te ha pagado usando el botón (solo recibes un mensaje que te notifica que alguien ha utilizado el botón para pagarte).
4. (Esto lo cambié ya que DA cambió su formato) Para comprobar cuánto has hecho y convertir esos "points" hazle click al menu que dice "shop" al lado de deviantART.
5. Ve a tu "earnings page". Ahí es donde verás tus ganancias que podras convertir en dinero. Ten en cuenta de que no puedes "legalmente" convertir los "points" que te han donado o regalado.
6. Podrás ver tu balance de "points" a la izquierda de la página. Hazle click a Retirar por PayPal ("Withdraw by PayPal"). Necesitas una cuenta de PayPal para poder hacer esto.
Ojo:
Tienes que esperar un total de dos semanas para poder retirar tus ganancias. Necesitas por lo menos $5 para poder retirar (DA no te dejará retirar menos de eso). Incluso, DA te cobrará $1 por retirar si no tienes "Premium Membership".

If you plan to sell stuff and make your site look all pretty, then yes, it's worth it. If not, then you don't really need it, I guess.
