Description Contamination Europe

Image Description
Here you can see the concept artwork for the Panzer-Suit II (Panzeranzug II in german). It is an advanced infantry armor, which was developed at the end of the conventional war. Its ugly, its bulky and bullets only cause paintwork damage against it.

I’ve tried to give it a typical German look. The armor, especially the face mask is influenced by world war I. The smiling face on the chest is produced accidently, but I like it.

um let me jsut say this the helmet looks a little flimsy like say if i was to run into one of these out on the field i would aim high and fire at the head because that is the weakest point i can tell

Believe me, the helmet is armored with at least 5 cm of super-hard carbon polymers all around. No chance to get through with standard infantry weapons.

psh get me a PTRS and hes done for i take it out in one shot and well how about this an infantry gets close enough to climb onto the armor thus they guy inside is screwed, and think about how the armor will react to electric shock

msgamedevelopment In reply to UnknownJester [2011-07-04 15:13:49 +0000 UTC]

well its just a game concept. But the story is: In 2.050 some new lightweight and super-hard armor types are developed, so even a PTRS or a Barrett or a 2cm Cannon will only cause a bumb to the armor.

But there are other weapon types like laser, plasma or ion, which cause more damage to it.

A melee attack from a normal infantryman is suicide, because he would be torn to pieces, so no climbing on the armor, and there are no electric shock weapons.

i am sorry but how would they get ripped to shreds? thin about it i could climb onto the back of that armor and he wouldnt be able to touch me

At first u need to get that close. If u manage that and climg on the back, so what. The armor is hermetic closed. Now your in a good position to get shoot by others. And this thing weights at least 5 tons. It can shake you off or fall backwards. You under 5 tons, I think theres only left some sludge, right?

XD yea thats why you move quickly so what i would do is take the games equivilent of a sachel charge or anti tank mine and crame that behind the head with detonater in hand before jumping off and with a click much of them is gone and sorry to say but a five ton suit?? how the hell do they move!!! and i am sure a comrad would shot one of there friends to get some person of there back, falling over dosent seam like a good idea either with the wait of the suit and the bulkines it would be stuck in the mud basicaly.....sorry if i am being annoying as fuck i am basicaly a beta tester and i find little things and exsploit them XD

Hey no problem

At first: Its Sci-Fi, so the armor moves, think of artificial muscles, beneath the armor plates. And it can stand up again, surely this will take some time, but its possible.

With such an armor, you can carry really BFGs up to 400 kg. Just think one of these is equipped with a simple Minigun which shoots 7,62x51mm and enough ammo to use it. Your chances to get near enough are really low, especially if you wear some equipment (your anti tank mine alone weights ca. 7 - 8 kg, plus your clothing and other weapons + ammo, if you don't want to run naked with a single anti-tank-mine under your arm accross the battlefield . Believe me with some battle equipment (ca. 20 - 30 kg) your not really fast, especially on a muddy battlefield.

And others can of course shoot you down from the back, as long as they use some normal infanrty calibers, like 5,56 or 7,62, because these calibers will absolutely kill you, but don't harm the armor.

well than if that's the case i would use my concept armor which is [link] because the standard weapon is a simple assault rifle but it can be out fitted with many different weapons and there are some thick armor the shield would stop most munitions, the armor is good and dose not hamper movements and can be fitted for all different kinds of situations, it could pull of normal movements that a normal trooper could in normal combat gear. the armor is laced with synthetic muscles that improve the strength and speed of the wearer of the suit.

Surely u can, but in Con Eur there only my armors available, srry

Besides: if your armor is faster, than it usually carries less armor, so it can be destroyed by bigger guns like Laser-/Plasma-/Ion-Cannons like this: [link]

UnknownJester In reply to msgamedevelopment [2011-07-04 16:04:01 +0000 UTC]

XD well in your world i would move lightly and have high caliber weapons to snipe every one that is opposing me or my nation so yea there would be a low chance of me being seen.

yea well lets just say that faster armor means quicker reaction time and the shield which he has is thick and it is mostly designed for medium threat i think i might do a hevy armor variant

msgamedevelopment In reply to UnknownJester [2011-07-04 16:10:59 +0000 UTC]

Thats your right. I must say that I prefer big heavy armor and the biggest guns.

Of course I have also designed some other armors that are more todays standard with vests, leg-/arm protection and helmets, which can be combined arbitrary.

The Panzer-Suit should be the most impressiv armor in the game, and its rather seldom, because its high-tech. So you won't see it at every corner.

well i am some what annoyed by big heavy armor i would prefer to move quickly from point a to b and take a shot before moving to a different location.

msgamedevelopment In reply to UnknownJester [2011-07-04 16:23:12 +0000 UTC]

I know what u mean, thats two differnet play styles.

In fact I've designed exoskeletons for the russian side, which aren't heavy armored and can be used with normal armor. You won't reach the armor level of a Panzer-Suit, but with an exoskeleton you can also carry heavy weapons up to 400 kg. So you don't have to use the annoying big heavy armor

check my other artworks, if you don't have already.

Another advantage of the Panzer-Suit is. that its hermetic closed and provides ecxellent protection from the ABC-contamination, which is really a threat.

UnknownJester In reply to msgamedevelopment [2011-07-04 16:24:19 +0000 UTC]

XD hooray for the mother land!!!

so ABC-contamination is basicaly radiation right?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

msgamedevelopment In reply to UnknownJester [2011-07-04 16:30:41 +0000 UTC]

No, No, its radiation, viruses and chemical gases. The full bandwith of ABC-Weapons was used. Just read through the descriprion here: [link]

I always find that post-apocalyptic games don't focus enough on the deadly enviroment (in Fallout 3 and New Vegas radiation was a joke). But this really adds something to the atmosphere.

yea i know what you mean. you play a game where ther is some radio active nuclear war and you can simply go about your buisnes unharmed at all but.. metro 2033 which i havent played looks some what realistic in the fact that you need to find filters for your mask and you need to replace your mask if it gets to damaged

msgamedevelopment In reply to UnknownJester [2011-07-04 16:50:12 +0000 UTC]

I haven't played this yet, because its more a shooter than RPG.

The thing with deterioration of items works quiet well in computer games but for pen and paper its not really practicable, because you have to monitor every change of an items quality by hand, that will cause some annoying paperwork.

Besides: its total unrealistic, that a fireweapon deteriorates after 50 or 100 rounds (like Fallout 3 or NV). In reality you can fire several 100 rounds before there are some deterioration effects.

yeah, I think game developers make too much casual games. But a real realistic game (Shooter or RPG)that would be great. Just think of the black shadow, when you look down, wheres your body??

yup i cant wait for a game which is realistic so when you shoot some one the eithere loose function of that part or die instantly depending on where they are hit

Thats the field of military simulations. I remember Operation Flaspoint, where you've had these features.

I'll really want to see these game mechanics in a today's Shooter/RPG. But hey, thats obviously too hard for most gamers.

yea one thing i would like to see is some thing like the kinect but on a higer tech scale so your suspended in some form of like jell or some thing and waht ever you do in that jell your charecter dose in game

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

msgamedevelopment In reply to UnknownJester [2011-07-04 20:09:34 +0000 UTC]

Yes I think there really would be a market for something "more realistic", but unfortunately you won't get in the pc gaming industry as game designer and realize that, until you've developed something good.

So I tried it this way, its Pen&Paper gaming, but better than nothing.
