In scale size how big is this Space Freighter? Bigger than ocean carrying freighters at 400 meters or 1312.9 feet? Is it interplanetary capable?

She's a leviathan of a ship! Incredible looking bulk payload. I presume an endurance, Long-range HVY freighter?

If I'm counting and multiplying correctly, I'm coming up with 256 containers per section block. Counting 6 blocks fore and aft, that's 3,072 containers total.
And if I use the dimensions from another table I've built, each container is 20lx10wx10h (in feet) and holds 20 tons - that's 5,120 tons or cargo per approximately 80 cubic feet.
So 3,072 x 20 = 61,440 tons of cargo per haul!

I would dub this a mega-freighter and put 3 engine sections, front, center, and back.
A heavy freighter would haul 3-4 blocks with 1 engine in the back, but more common is 2 blocks fore and aft with a center engine.
A super freighter would haul 6-9 blocks with 1 engine on each end for 6 blocks or 2 blocks, engine, 4 blocks, engine, 2 blocks when hauling 9

320 container per section block. Counting 6 blocks fore and aft, that's 3840 containers total.

Thanks for the correction. That means 76,800 tons per haul, which is much more lucrative for trading firms to move over 15 tons more.

Another thought I had is that most shipping containers (semi truck sized trailers) are 40-50 feet long. That's approximately 10,000 tons per container or 154,000 total tons of goods!

Would a ship like this carry it's own armament to deter pirates?

If so, they'd need gunners to crew the cannons.

Or maybe they have smaller escort ships (much like aircraft carriers IRL) which would mean security firm contracts to protect all the trading company's cargo/ship.

That awesome! It looks cool, and it also has a realistic look to it, I'm no engineer or whatever, but it seems like a workable design! Keep it up!

I love that design though. Great work.
