Man, I've always been intrigued by the Genesis Unit, the Journey To The West-inspired bots who only showed up in the Genesis-only Mega Man: The Wily Wars game. They are a nice change of pace in design and theme......and when they FINALLY appeared in fiction, they're a delightfully dysfunctional trio of utter doofuses. I deeply appreciate that.

Actually, looking back, "fiction" would equate more to Archie Comics themselves, one of the most recognizable non-DC non-Marvel non-IDW comic book sources in the United States!

They was not that strong in the game, like some normal Robot Masters. However I just love they style in the MegaDrive, and how they designed in Mega Man 8-bit Deathmatch. With Justified Classes mod, they act like a perfect team: a technical assault, a good zoner, and a heavy-hitter tank. Just check out

In a hilarious twist of irony, the Genesis Unit was based off of characters from Journey To The West, but the game they're in never made it to the US, so they never even MADE the journey to the West.
