So I was sitting in the doctor's waiting room for a long time. Had my sketch pad, had my TFA "cinemangas" as source material to look at... and no pencil, just a ball-point pen. I figured it's time to focus on Sari.She's tough. I'm not used to drawing characters whose heads are wider than they are tall. The space between the eyes is indeed larger than I'm used to... and her bangs, how they fall...
I think drawing straight in ink helped. Forced me to try harder to get it right. Though I think the best one on the page is the "shaded" one to the right.

That's basically how I learn to draw characters. Start with the face, get the range of expression, work from there. The body flows. It's the kind of thing that made art class teachers cry and cuss, but that's me.
