So you don use the blending tool at ALL!! wow thats what i must be doing wrong!! adn is on multiple layers or just one?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MsMiyavi In reply to GDLUVSU [2011-04-28 03:26:06 +0000 UTC]

this is just my method of doing it. there is no right or wrong way, it's whatever you're comfortable with and whatever works for you. i just multiple layers especially when it comes to stuff like eyebrows and hair.

Question: What is the difference between flow and opacity? Coz they seem to have the same effect to me @.@

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MsMiyavi In reply to BabyBlockie [2009-08-08 14:32:11 +0000 UTC]

opacity is the transparency of the paint. if you have it at 100 then its a solid color. if it is at 50 then it becomes lighter, transparent. flow is more like pressure based. for example, you start your line with solid color and as you pull your line, the color gets more towards the end. unlike opacity which is just a solid color all the way through. does that makes sense? lol

I think you are awsome and very good at drawing realism!
but I think that you maybe are making them a bit to smooth...
it looks a bit more natural if they were a bit bumby you know?

i dont know if im an idiot or something
but you say you blend by painting over and over not smudging....
how does that work?

MsMiyavi In reply to dot-sye [2008-11-18 05:45:42 +0000 UTC]

well I have a real BIG QUESTION I am a begginer so I wonder if you could tell me if you use Photoshop CS3 and you said in this tutorial something about a layer under your sketch...how do you create this layer??

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MsMiyavi In reply to corina-z [2008-11-09 10:25:14 +0000 UTC]

in photoshop there is a layer pallette. at the very bottom of that, are icons. there is a "create layer icon. you should find directly next to the garbage can. when you create a new layer, and you want it underneath the sketch layer, you can just drag it down

corina-z In reply to MsMiyavi [2008-11-09 11:13:39 +0000 UTC]

ok thanks I know how to create it but what kind of layer? I mean when you create it you can choose its type.it says Normal,Dissolve and others...I just wanted to know if I should make it normal or other type.thankyou again ^.^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MsMiyavi In reply to corina-z [2008-11-09 16:34:33 +0000 UTC]

Question, n.n

Do you change your layer to normal after slopping on colours or do you just keep it as Multiply throughout the skin colouring process?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MsMiyavi In reply to fatalis-unus [2008-01-16 12:16:07 +0000 UTC]

the only time i use multiply is when i scan a drawing into the computer. here i just drew directly in photoshop on a seperate layer

Ah, it's so depressing sometimes when another's idea of 'slopping on' totally owns your own 'that's pretty good!'

XD Maybe this can be useful to me some time down the line...

xSassyLassyx [2007-12-22 09:33:53 +0000 UTC]

you changed your methods, didn't you? I think you used to block in pieces of colours then blend, right?

I used to do that, but now I turned into this methos, discovered it was much easier.

MsMiyavi In reply to xSassyLassyx [2007-12-22 22:28:50 +0000 UTC]

i think this works best for me. this is how i paint traditionally anyways.
