Furthering my countdown of my top 25 favorite MST3K episodes, I present number 20, the only beatnik movie to feature no beatniks whatsoever, 415 "The Beatniks"!

Synopsis, from the MST3K Amazing Colossal Episode Guide:
"Young singer Eddy Crane is on his way to stardom. But Eddy can't escape the pull of his fun-loving hoodlum friends. Particularly problematic is his friendship with the shrieking psychotic Mooney, who kills a fat barkeep; and he can't shake his girlfriend Iris, even though she irritates the hell out of him. In the end, craggy agent Harry Bayliss and Eddy's new flirt Helen pull him back from the brink. Mooney is sedated and nailed for the fat barkeep job."

I freaking LOVE Mooney!! he's like the most awesome side character I've known in the world of Mystery science theater. "I'm gonna MOON YA!!" XD "you afraid to die man..ahahahahaha!!" Mooney freaking rocks. XD

'The Beatniks' is funy cause it stars NO beatniks. XD Thanks for drawing renditions of my favorite all time show. ^__^

Yes, definitely. It features a pop crooner, a tough broad, a psycho, a greaser and a wuss but no Beatniks anywhere.

I think the other movie Mst3k did 'The Rebel Set' shouldv'e been named this. At least that had beatniks in a sense. You think the titles of those two movies were switched. =-p

I think they should have been switched too. The leader of the biker gang, with his flowery language, slang and peacenik-y attitude was definitely a beatnik.

Hmmm...are you sure you're not referring to 'The Hellcats'? 'Rebel Set' was another mst3k movie.

Oh wait the movie I was referencing was "Wild Rebels". The biker gang leader with the flowery language and beatnik attitude was in "Wild Rebels". I got confused between the two. There wasn't any beatniks in "Hellcats" though. Ross Hagen tries to speak a bunch of slang terms but he mumbles so it sounded like he was speaking another language.

There was too many biker films on MST3K!
