How lucky can you be? I have a horrible fear of heights and wouldn't be able to even attempt to take the pic if given the chance!! I am green with envy and so happy for you!!
Wonderful capture!!!!

it was rather high, but I think because of the vast size of the stairs it didn't feel as high as it looks here.. does that make any sense? Thanks for faving it

I loved this shot the first time I saw it. As an old arty farty type, I love shape form before content. Love the lines. Do they let you use tripods in the Vatican? Worth every fave it has.

never had a monopod. I would consider it a challenge to my manhood. I have a monfrotto that I lost on the towpath, and was handed in. Ain't mankind nice?
I make my own beanbags. I could throw one across. Hang on.......Umph! Should be with you in about 22 hrs.

I see you used f22. Very dark aperture.
Was the natural lighting very high?

yes, it was bright plus I wanted the long exposure to show movement... had to close the shutter down or else risk blow out..

Might be. I would also have tried a longer exposure if I had a tripod with me.
