Description

A copy of Charles Bargue's Beledevere torso from his drawing course, Cours de dessin. This is my second drawing of this particular Bargue; my first drawing was unfortunately ruined while travelling. It was quite tedious to redo!

Bargue I
Bargue II

Beledevere Torso

Thank you! Sorry for replying a bit late, how is your work on your first Bargue going?

Your welcome! Oh that's okay. My work on the first Bargue went pretty well. Now I'm working on my second Bargue. How is studying at the Angel Academy going?

Congratulations on completing your first Bargue! I saw the work in progress photo in your gallery, and from the looks of it, you did a great job. What have you selected for your second?

I really love the Angel Academy. I am on a little hiatus now while I save money, but I will hopefully return soon. My teachers gave me the greatest gift, because I had no prior art training and no clue how to properly draw, never mind paint, before I went there... I actually have hope now that I can be a professional artist someday, instead of just thinking of it as a silly dream.

How about you, where is it that you study?

Hello, Thank you and sorry for the delayed response. I study at the Watts Atelier online program. I'm also taking private lessons withΒ MartinhoΒ Correia. You might of met him heΒ studied at the Angel Academy as well and still teaches there too. For my second Bargue drawing I chose Plate I, 43. Faustina. Wow that's really great you found hope and a school that works for you. Keep going I think dreams are so important!!!

Oh wow. I know just getting the proportions just right must've taken days of measuring and plotting.

Do you sight-size?

Sorry I'm responding to this rather late!

Yes, getting the proportions right did take some time... And now that I look back on it, I think I still could have done a better job at it! I did use the sight-size method for this.
