anytime! I really like when artists use white like that, and not just try to leave blank space on the canvas...

Yeah, it was especially important for this picture. The area that is depicted has a lot of white granite that is heavy in quartz, so the ground glitters in the sun. I wanted to get some of that feeling in this painting.

there's definitely a feel of the light shimmering off the ground with the contrast of the other colors around it. The white does stand out like something that would glitter...

I love that about art - every viewer brings their own memories and experiences to the table. I'm glad that my painting could connect with you.

lovely color palette and vibrancy. I really enjoy this one, it has a lot of life. It reminds me a little of chinese ink painting... though from the look of the chop in the corner, that may be intentional

Thanks! I was playing a little bit with mimicking the brushwork from asian painting, so I guess it was semi-intentional. The chop is mainly there to give some weight to that side of the piece. It is also there as a somewhat inside joke - the characters say "rock monkey" which is appropriate for the person in the picture because she likes to make monkey noises when she climbs.

Signatures and chops can be excellent things to balance composition, thats for sure. and honestly I just love the look of chops. I have one that I got in china town with my name on it, its such fun ^_^
