Description
THIS is an example (and actual content) of the comic I'm working on with , "Mask": A Legend of Zelda, Pirates of the Caribbean crossover. It's actually a fairly mature comic, since it's dealing with complex issues of mind and heart and whenever we get to posting pages regularly, I suggest you read it with an open mind, because it is going to throw you curve balls in which you were definitely not expecting. Not to mention this is based off a role play, so you guys MIGHT not like the characterization of certain people... but it's up to you.To tell you the truth, I'm really excited about this. I'm putting a lot of effort into this, and I just wanted to show an example of what the prologue looks like.

Like the styles and colors you're usin' here! Great job, the top panel has a Wind Waker stylized sort of vibe comin' from it, but much more detailed, like it also met Twilight Princess along the way. A+!

I have been dying to catch wind of this since Anna posted the cover... oh man this has not yet disappointed me! Seriously this is so beautiful! I can not wait to read it and man this is, in my opinion professional comic quality... wow... you guys really keep setting the bar for me higher and higher. Keep up the good work! I can't wait to read this!

I'll be honest, I honestly do not give a damn about Pirates of the Caribbean. The story was good, I liked the characters (except Elizabeth and Will whom I wanted the Kraken to eat) but the fangirls and fandom in general killed the appeal for me to the point of no return...
However, your art itself is so appealing, and the way you describe the story being complex and throwing curve balls, im willing to ignore my childish chagrin and give it a chance the moment it comes out

Anna is commenting on how the pirate's universe relates to the story. It focuses on BOTH Jack and Link and some OC's of ours, which is why people might not like it, but you know what? Who cares?
Glad the art is making you interested though, considering it has NOTHING PIRATES RELATED IN THE FIRST PAGE. Astriex was so sad... but she will get over it in the next page. XD

I generally dislike OC's but it's often ONLY because the people writing them are not very good at characterization or character development (or the ever dreaded, mary sue/gary stu), thus making me hate their characters. I do enjoy "fanstories" with OC's if they're well written (example I'll always use: Rose Zemlya's "The Return" Zelda fanfic. I adore her OCs like crazy), non-2dimensional characters, which I think you got covered; judging by your and your friend's thought process, the characters have a great deal of thought put into them 
But you;re right, who cares if no one else likes them? (though im sure they will) this is your and Astriex's baby, so screw what everyone else says >:3

lol yeah I know what you mean - I... I'm very CAREFUL with OC's. I believe them to be really lovable characters. I'll admit, my OC was a little Mary sueish for a while, but we got the hold on her ankles so she stopped flying through the air like Mary Poppins. Glad you're looking forward to it

Hahah we all start somewhere! When I started writign fanfic when i was like 11 my first character was the epitome of what a mary sur was! It's pretty hilarious now that I look back upon it xDDD I think its awesomer when they have all these weaknesses and flaws' cause then you can make up silly or crucial scenes playing on their flaws, and make them more human

Will and Liz aren't in it if that makes you feel any better. It's really just focused on Jack, and he's been given an entirely new side and story that ads depth. Some people might HATE it, but hey, that's the way of most stories. Some will love it, and some wont. Such is life.

Will and Liz not being there MAKES IT ALL THE better. They were the only characters I couldnt stand xDDDD the rest, I like :> especially Jack and his Crew (despite his often annoying fanbase). I love it when characters are given more depth, so i can't wait to see what you do with Jack :3!
I liked Jack as a comic relief, but I like characters more when they have story and depth to them :3 screw the fangirls, give me character xD!
But yes, people have their tastes but even if there's a little fraction that wont like it, youll have another that will adore it

No worries, most if not all fandoms have their share of obnoxious. Myself I sometimes (SOMETIMES if done well) like Zelink, but i absolutely cannot stand 90% of the zelink fandom... or any shipping section of a fandom. They are just so damn pushy and childish and NO MY OPINION SAYS YOU SUCK. Dont get my started on the OCARINA OF TIME IS THE BEST AME EVUR DUUUUR debate. :l.....
