I hate the fact that I shot this at ISO800 in broad daylight, hence the noise. Forgot to check before taking shots. Anyway, I liked how this turned out.
Full view please, you might think it's just a shot of the clouds.
Edit: I was able to reduce the noise through a slight gaussian blur on the noisy parts of the image.

the plane is so small compared to the vastness of the sky! I like that about this shot! and the clouds are very ominous. the whole piece makes it feel that the plane is ascending from darkness. I love it! awesome job!

clouds are always beautiful things to work with, they create so many different shapes and textures it's unbelievable. this is such an excellant capture too! it really is :]
there's so much depth to the clouds. i love the composition too, the dark patch of sky in the top right corner makes the shot even more interesting. beautiful work

Oh right... I'm still learning certain photography terms and i was wondering if it'd be possible that you could tell me what you meant by there being "noise" in the picture...

How does it happen?
How to spot it?
And how it can be corrected?

Noise is randomly-spaced speckles on an image. It's caused most often when taking photos with a digital camera using a high ISO number, usually over ISO 100 or when using a long exposure. There are certain programs designed to reduce noise such as Noise Ninja.

Wow. This is probably the only REALLY good picture I've seen taken of clouds, and the sky in general. Outstanding colors, and the plane is a nice touch to the overall mood of the picture. Magnificent.
