Description
The latest Americana character! This here is Ticker, a state-of-the-art stock ticker robot, who also functions as Rocketfeller's assistant and butler. Deft and astute, he's generally not amused by his boss's childish tendencies, but he remains loyal nonetheless.See the other characters in the story so far!

The first time around, I didn't spot the monocle. Nice touch and clever execution!

Thanks! I wanted his head to be mostly dome-oriented, but he also needed an eye to roll at all the dumb things his boss does, so this seemed a good fit.

The design seems to have taken a more old-fashioned, almost steampunk turn for this character; where brass replaces steel, wood replaces... more steel, and everything is driven by the power of steam rather than the atom. I quite like this variety you are putting into your characters.
Also, curious, Is this character going for more the role of "guy-who-cleans-up-the-messes-of-others-but-still-loves-them-in-a-way-even-while-being-snide-and-pessimistic" (Christ that's a long string of hyphens) or is he going to be more like Marvin from Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy books?

Thank you! I'm trying to mix all sorts of styles and time periods into the story. Ticker is from "The Big Apple"--a Steampunk/Dieselpunk twist on New York as it would have been around the industrial revolution, the early 1900s, and the 1920s. He's decidedly more delicate/Steampunk than the other robots in the story.
Yeah! Sort of a mix of both, actually. The best way to describe him is that he's the Kiff to Rocketfeller's Zap Brannigan. He's eternally frustrated by his boss's impetuousness and lack of judgement, but he sticks with him anyway.

I love, "loyal yet unamused". Very cute.
I love his style. Even as a robot, and without the try, I think he is clearly a butler.
I'm reminded a little of the robots from the Oz books.
Although I think that's just because he's quirky, not because they actually look alike.

Thanks! ^__^ Yeah, I tried to make his parts reminiscent of a butler--like the collar and whatnot.
Ah, yeah! I get exactly what you mean. I try to reference Oz quite a bit in the story. The whole thing is sort of an amalgamation/homage to American folklore, literature and culture. Some of the other characters are literally based on Oz--there's a big robot with a big heart, a scarecrow robot, and a trucker/cowboy that's lion-themed.

Cool design! He sounds like a no funny business type of guy

Thanks! Yeah, he's kind of the straight man to Rocketfeller's goofiness.
