Oddly enough, I dreamed that this would happen in the next season of this fantacular show. . . .
By the way, for the curious fan who's been waitin' for like a coon's age for the next season, don't worry. Disney is gonna continue the story of The Renegade Of Argon this coming December. Hang tight Programs!

I'm just pissed off that Disney pulled the plug on TRON: Uprising unofficially and later announcing to cancel it completely. And to make matters worse, Disney killed any chances of a TRON 3 movie and no longer consider Tron a Disney character. What I was looking forward to c in a second season of TRON: Uprising is having Paige either discover Tesler's true self or having a shocking encounter w/Tron himself and showing her the errors of her loyalties, thus finally convincing her to switch sides.

Yes, I was also very disappointed that Disney chose to handle Tron and Uprising in the way that they did.Β The series won awards for the work done on it.Β It was great.Β I understand that it may have been outside the usual demographic of XD programming, but what they did was unfair to the following that it had built up.Β Randomly changing air times, being wishywashy about show status and stuff like that is not cool.
I never had any personal speculation on the plot, I just wanted more.Β More everything.Β

Including Beck & Paige's relationship and finally showing how CLU captured and re-purposed Tron thus re-naming him Rinzler?

The Rinzler part 150% yes yes and more yes.Β I'll admit, their relationship part was fun and good story, but I was watching the whole show for TRON himself more than anything else. hahaha, I haven't had a crush on Tron since I was 10 years old. nope.Β not one bit.Β

Greetings, Murielle.
I've respected this work of yours for some time, primarily because of it's fashion of representing Tron: virtually iconic in his embodiment of hope, shrouded in light and lances of luminance - as easily brilliance from above as it could be from a glorious cathedral of the Grid.
It's sense of oneness and unity under the guidance of a sole figure carries the material of inspiration. One and all Programs, together with the emblem of Tron upon their chest.
Personally, I like how Tron's chest-initial can hardly be seen due to the light and mist-like occlusion around him, but it glows strongly upon all of the Programs assembled before the viewer.
While Tron's expression carries almost a paternal compassion - or perhaps worry over the price of necessity and inevitable loss and suffering - Beck's is that of a level forward stare, a gaze straight at the obstacles and difficulties which all Programs will face on their path to a better Grid.
Although a visually rough work, I appreciate the spirit it carries. Thank you for sharing your creation, Murielle.

Murielle In reply to LucrataNexarii [2013-04-02 05:46:56 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, it is definitely rough, made more from jittery excitement (emphasis on the jittery, looking at it again!) than from anything else. XD Now that the series had aired, I think I would like to include more of the cast recognizably as the cast, not just random silhouettes, if I were to do it over.
At the time I didn't really know that much about the plot of series yet, just some clips and production art that had been around on the internet. So whatever I had in mind was based on conjecture and my hopeful fan-girling. It was mostly along the idea that Tron may not be able to fight for the user now, but his spirit lives on in the programs that rise against CLU's tyranny.
I am utterly floored and honored by the attention you have given my work! Thank you and thank you again!

You are quite welcome, Murielle.
Yours is one of the few fan-works which I find a resonance with in terms of it's design and spirit.
Were I able, I've found myself wanting to make a derivative work with acrylic on canvas... Unfortunately I possess zero command of using acrylic successfully. But, if the day does come, and it's a good effort, I would be sure to show you and give you due credit as it's inspiration!
Thanks again. I'm glad to provide a return of goodwill and enthusiasm to a fellow fan.

Haha, don't feel bad about the acrylics, I still can't use them worth a damn and I took classes for it! (The world will never see those sorry sorry beasts.)
It's always good to talk to people who not only care about a fandom, but also are wonderfully polite and articulate about it! Keep it up, you are a rare jewel on the internet.

*shrug* Right now it appears to be in limbo, but I only have the internet as a source.
I really hope it has another season. It was such a breath of fresh air in tv animation and it is TRON, I cannot love it enough. Otherwise, I am just going to be watching for a DVD release like a hawk.

Bruce Boxleitner as Tron, the voice of a cowboy. He does have a Western sounding voice in the series.
Why does Tron look like a shaved Abe Lincoln.

Murielle In reply to marcobrunez [2012-06-26 05:56:17 +0000 UTC]
I enjoy them both, but then I don't think there is a single thing Tron that I have not enjoyed. I won't say that Legacy (or even the original film for that matter) are triumphs of storytelling, but I think they are both well worth the watching. Uprising is doing an amazing job so far and I think that it is making marvelous use of the setting. The designs and color palette of the series are amazingly in keeping with the feel of the rest of Tron.
XD whoops, kinda got into that mini-rant there. Thank you again for the fave!

marcobrunez In reply to Murielle [2012-06-26 07:59:26 +0000 UTC]
According to me Tron Legacy lacks of a proper plot too much, and this compromised my enjoyability of the movie (some things of the story were really happening without any reason), and they went too far away from the spirit of the original Tron.
But it doesn't matter, I'm happy with this Tron Uprising. It looks like they were able to recover some elements (in particular the great Tron himself) that were not having enough space in the last movie... I hope they are going to bring some of it in TRON 3

Alright. What's with the mask? That is the only thing I pretty much have to say about this. If it were me drawing this, cut the mask diagonally, and fix his eyes to a central point rather than making him look cross-eyed. Give him more personality, some flair, a spark. Rather than some dumb-loyal looking System Monitor. But everything else about this: the background, the other Monitors, Tron. Stunning, simply stunning.

Yeah, considering Beck is supposed to be the main character, I probably could have devoted a bit more effort into getting him to look good. But then, I think at first he wasn't going to get a face at all. XD Thanks for the critique.

dA is where I post my random musings, so while constructive critique is always appreciated (because non-artistic families are very unhelpful), I won't say that these are my best works. Some maybe, but others are pure crap and I know it. XD

Yeah, what is up with that?! Where are all my TRON peeps hiding at? I have so much fear that this show will come and go without people realizing. This is probably one of those shows that will only be able to really make it longterm if it gets a lotta fan loving. I'm gunna force everyone I can to watch it.

Perr-E In reply to Murielle [2012-06-08 05:19:30 +0000 UTC]
I don't get why Disney wants viewer but chose to air Uprising on Disney XD, a channel few people have? If this is due to the boys-oriented marketing and they think Tron is boy viewers bait, I'm calling bullcrap on them. And no international air dates announced? Really smart move there Disney.
What worries me that Disney XD original shows get canceled if they don't sell. I'm kinda tempted to get a full season pass and force everyone to watch this gorgeous show.

Murielle In reply to Perr-E [2012-06-08 17:03:58 +0000 UTC]
I figure that they think TRON is too much of a niche audience. Also, the tone and subject of the show are a bit darker than the usual Disney channel fare...which is a GREAT THING as far as I am concerned.
