Expressing emotion with non-human characters isn't easily done - but you've pulled it off like a Pokemon fan's version of Rembrandt. While sitting down to dinner might not be the most original idea on the planet, the characters are so expressive you can easily read their inner thoughts: the Shiny Gardevoir is thoroughly enjoying flouting her rare type and her partner's affection with the confidence of any other woman who is attractive and knows it. Her counterpart across the table consoling herself with a large bowl of ice cream (a very womanly trait) adds humor to the obvious jealousy of the Shiny's...*ahem*...assets. The two of them are posed just enough to emphasize their emotions without being overdramatic - one slouches just a little and the other sits up straight as an arrow.
What also blows me away are the details. Which details? ALL the details, starting from the tiny difference in poses making such a huge impression. I'm particuarly impressed by the grill marks on the Corfish and the wood-grain lines on the table. You even remembered to make the knives ever-so-slightly serrated and put textures on the chicken legs! And lastly the Mawile staring sadly in at the grand feast from the rain makes for a good "second look laugh" in the background.
Altogether this stands out as the gold standard for Pokemon fanart and a fine example for aspiring artists. It's funny enough to make you laugh out loud, tasteful enough to not have to worry about one's children seeing it and well drawn enough to communicate the artist's superb talent. I wouldn't

Another great job.
Well, what can I say. This work is amazing. The style is very interesting and looks very nice. The shading looks amazing as well. All things look proportionate, I cant find any thing off with the character depictions. Visually it looks great.
The added details like the Mawile and Corphish make the work also entertaining to watch. The facial expressions look nice as well, they don look slightly off like some draw them.
Overall I would say this content is amazing and is very nicely done. I look forward to your next work and hope you continue to make amazing works

Okay, this is my very first critique so let's see how I do.
First, let's point out what I like about this particular piece. I'm a sucker for great textures and this pic doesn't disappoint. The table in particular looks great with that varnished wood effect. The crispy effect on the Corphish as well as the rain outside look great too.
The perspective of the image as a whole is good and the poses of the characters look great. They don't look forced or too stiff.
Colour and shading is amazing and you've really nailed the colours for the two Gardevoir variants.
If there was anything I had no nitpick, it would be that the glass in front of Diantha's Gardevoir looks off a little, the angle isn't quite right. And it looks like the guy has elf ears (I apologise if that's the intended effect)
And that's really about it. A superb piece and I can't wait to see more from you~

What can I say, it is better than I expected, the colors, the luxury of the restaurant, the poor corfish expression, 2 gardevoirs with different attitudes, Diantha making a puffy face, and the mawile outside, that's much better than how I envisioned it, Mawile being outside is because she escapes his trainer, but always come back whenever feels like it, and she missed a nice dinner and is not happy
the shiny Gardevoir is always loyal, the dinner happens because Diantha never seen a trainer with a Gardevoir using a mega stone, or maybe she wants to trick the trainer into losing to her

Mawile is feeling seriously left out. Β Somebody give the poor thing a hug, or at least open the window to let it in. Β

Common Logic: Pokemon = Animal
Animal eating another Animal. I.e Lion eat Antelope; Shark eat Seal; T-rex eat Chupacabra;
Pokemon eating another Pokemon = Animal eating another AnimalΒ
conclusion: Not Cannibalism. LMAO R U KIDDING ME GTFO, JK, NOT REALLY , HAVE A COOKIE

DrX-Raven In reply to MurPloxy [2016-01-24 13:36:35 +0000 UTC]
Raven: The problem is that a lot speculations conclude that there are no animals in the Pokemon world, and the meat people eat is actually Pokemon meat. That's supported by the fact that there are actual Pokemon dishes.
