I take it this happened in an episode of star vs the forces of evil? was it like a one-time thing, or is marco supposed to be a crossdresser? or transgender? sorry for all the questions at once; I see a crossdressing dude and I'm like, teLL ME MORE
for the drawing itself, it looks really cute. I notice that instead of inking the blush on his cheeks like you typically do, you left it out this time and it looks like a more natural blush. not saying there was anything wrong with lining the blush, but there is an obvious difference between the two (and it looks like marco's wearing makeup too hehe

Haha yes. Princess Marco has been in two episodes.Β
The first was when they infiltrated a Princess boarding school and Marco kinda started a revolution of 'It's not criminal to be an individual!!'Β
And the head of the school returned in season 2 to confront Marco so we got Princess Marco again.Β
There's a transgender theory for Marco going around and while I would love for that to be the case I can't see it happening. I don't think it's the story they're trying to tell and let's face it, it's Disney.Β
But I do love the message it's brought. The whole 'It's not criminal to be an individual'
Star Vs did air Disney's first LGBT kiss though! Which was great!! Parents complained and tried to get the episode taken down but they were unsuccessful

dang, I was hoping marco was transgender, but I understand disney, as a company, is really conservative and it's hard for them to be more open to things like the lgbtqia+ community. and you're right, the show's not about marco so much as it's supposed to be about star. even if disney said, "yep marco's trans, let's run with it," it'd turn the entire show on its head and basically divert from the main point because I have a feeling most people would want to focus on marco at that point. they really don't have to but it'd be like a "coming out" moment so it would end up focusing on him, if that makes sense. if the show had stated he was transgender from the beginning, or even like genderfluid, so he could continue wearing boys' clothes but sometimes appear in girls' clothes (that'd be a pain for the animators though lol, not to mention costly), it'd be okay and the show wouldn't have to focus on him. but that wasn't established so they really can't say he's transgender or genderfluid or anything other than cisgender. especially since he's not the main character of the show. and I've never seen a single episode, lookit this rant lol
aaaaaanywho, was the kiss a gay one, or what? I'm curious to see at least a screencap of it. I'm glad disney, for once, didn't back down when parents complained about it though. why does it have to be censored or removed, y'know? a kiss is a kiss, love is love. as long as it's not illegal (like paedophilia or bestiality), I don't understand what's so wrong about it

but yeah, I like leaving nice comments on your drawings cause I've always loved seeing em and I love the improvement I've also been seeing over the years. I'm sure it's also kind of irritating to either get no comments on a drawing or just a bunch of "cute" cause I get that a lot (usually no comments though lol) and it frustrates me cause it's like, yeah it's cute, that's the whole frickin point. but a lot of people don't say anything more than that so it's hard to tell with wordless favourites or one-word comments, so at the very least I'll leave a nice comment and go into more detail about what I like about the pictures

I would love it if Disney made Marco transgender and it not be the focus of the show. I'd applaud them for being able to pull that off. I really would. But like you said there would be a 'coming out' moment and it would take away from Star.Β
If you wanted to see the cross dressing episodes they're season 1 Episode 10 and season 2 episode 19a.Β

They were two side characters, no big deal was made of it. That's why I liked it. It wasn't made out as anything special. It was normal. But the angry parents made a big deal of it.Β

Aww and I know what you mean about the 'cute' comments. Don't get me wrong. It's better than no comment and I'm glad someone took the time to let me know they liked it. But seeing something with some thought to it and depth is so nice to see!

lol well I'd done a bit of research on the show, and star, when I was drawing the picture of her in a loli dress. so I kinda picked up on the basic plot that way. it's a little, eh... I don't want to say it's complicated because it's not, but one has to step back and think about the show in general, as well as marco's role in it. I understand he's a supporting character alongside star, but since he's not the main character, they can't decide in the middle of the series to have something as significant and story-flipping as making him transgender (it'd be different if star turned out to be lgbtqia+ though); that'd be telling an entirely different story than what is supposed to be told. so yeah, unfortunately marco's gotta stay cis but there's nothing that doesn't say he can't crossdress huhu

wtf is wrong with that person who said something so mean about marco. well, I can understand the confusion because you know how I like kenji (tracey) from pokemon? back in the day whenever I'd upload a drawing of him, at least the first comment was someone carrying about how they hate him. why??? he did nothing wrong, and he wasn't trying to be takeshi (brock) either. I mean yeah, he was a little pervy like takeshi, but kenji was more subtle about it and it wasn't his defining trait; first and foremost, kenji likes to draw pokemon. he was nothing but kind and friendly to satoshi throughout the whole orange islands thing, and did whatever he could to help. so how can anyone hate him? I imagine it's something similar with marco, like there's probably nothing to hate about him, but people gotta be jerks for no good reason

Yeah completely agree with you. A lot of the Starco fans are hoping for the two of them to get together and while I'm not big into that ship. (Much prefer Tom and Marco.) I can imagine the Starco route is where it'll go. I'd prefer them as friends but hey, what can you do?Β
But yes Marco can crossdress! I so hope they have more episodes like that XDΒ
Gah I know what you mean. The 'Family Friendly' comment gets me so mad! Treating it as if it's 'wrong' or 'mature' is such a terrible attitude. I think it's more family friendly and accepting to include the scene! I'm so glad they didn't give in to the pressure and kept the episode!
