Description I read H.P.Lovecraft's horror novels recently and it was brilliant. His description of scene make me chill down.

I draw this after reading [The Call Of Cthulhu], imagine Cthulhu walking around his city Rlyeh.

This is one of the most original Cthulhu designs I've ever seen, very impressive in its alien-ness. The entire drawing is very atmospheric, with the miasma clouding the cyclopean buildings ... Lovecraft would approve, I think ...Β

I always have wondered how a person would depict the "unfathomable cyclopean architecture".

Are you familiar with "At the Mountains of Madness"?

Oh,"At the Mountains of Madness" is one of my favorite H.P.Lovecraft's novel. But it is so hard to paint Lovecraft's architecture. This is my result.

I'd say the composition on this one is better, Cthulhu seems more distant (and creepy) and the one random taller building in the other kind of breaks up the nice horizon line.

I think this oneΒ΄s better, because the lighting in the other one was a bit distracting.

Brilliant painting and BEST incarnation of Cthulhu I have ever seen! (he looks positively alien AND has a form that is convincingly massive in itself!)

Believe me it was brilliant (taking the basics of Cthulhu's written appearance, and making it into something very new yet very highly appropriate and sinister. Not an easy thing to pull off)!

I like both of these. This one has more darkness in it, while the other has a little more realism, as far as lights & darks go.
