Description
Today was extra special for Aloe Vera. She wished that Popo was here to enjoy this, but then again he was at a sleepover with Light Speed, so he was probably as happy as she was.

Today she and her Baba got to go to her Papi’s work, and see him! Deliver lunch and eat with him! The little filly was so excited, she was almost running ahead of her baba, who chuckled at her excitement.

“Aloe, sweetie, be careful. There are roots you might trip over.” Fluttershy gestured to said roots with the wing that wasn’t carrying the basket of goodies the two had prepared. Aloe only nodded- only to trip right over a root.

Fluttershy gasped and quickly rushed over, only for Aloe to raise her hand. “I’m OK!” She smiled, causing her parent to sigh out with a soft smile. “How about you walk by my side for
now?”

Aloe gave a one of her signature little pouts before sighing out. “Okayyyy. But when we see the temple I’m zooming there!”

Flutershy laughed… but then she looked up ahead, and froze. The basket suddenly dropped to the ground and Aloe gasped in surprise, being knocked off her hooves as her Baba suddenly leapt in front of her, their wings flared up to protect.

The little filly stared up at her parent in fear. “Baba, what’s going on-” “SHHHH.” Aloe had never seen her Baba this tense before, never. Slowly, she peeked her head through her parents’ legs to see who was there- only to see ponies she didn’t recognize.

They were big, holding maps and staring right back at her Baba… One of them had a gold necklace with a symbol from the temples-

Suddenly Aloe saw her Papi running over, grabbing the two thieves. He turned to his family, and Aloe heard her Baba gasp. “Ahui, you’re bleeding-” “I’m fine, love. I’ll be with you in a second.”

Ahuizotl turned to the thieves, glaring with fury. He was in fact bleeding, from a wound on his side. “I thought it was made clear by Daring Doo herself that thieves aren’t welcome. I should skin you alive- but I’d like to eat lunch with my daughter, so that’d be a waste of time. So-” He tossed them to the ground. “GET OUT, before I change my mind!”

The thieves quickly started running away, and Aloe watched them in curiosity and shock. She didn’t even notice herself being picked up by her Baba until her name had been called at least 3 times. “ALOE! Honey, are you alright?”

Aloe nodded slowly, before she turned to her father, who now was by their side, cupping her face with concern with her Baba, the necklace still in his hand.

"Papi, who was that?"
