Description Imagine an alternate story, a story where Peridot became the soul survivor of a doomed universe. And she became soul survivor just after she failed to make amends with Lapis Lazuli. Now with the unlikely aid of an ancient entity named Sir Peccatori, Peridot must find a way to get back that lost universe that was destroyed by an evil Gary-Stu, so that she can have a second chance to apologize to her former informant.

Story
From the depths of the Inferno, they ascend. Mounted atop a gigantic mammalian beast, Peridot (who stored the ashes of Lapis Lazuli in a small jar she has strapped around a belt) and Sir Peccatori reach a gigantic cone shapped landmass, taking up a fifth of the SU multiverse with entire clusters of universes orbiting around the mountain.

Peridot could not help but gawck at this biblical monument. “What in the stars is that!?”

Peccatoti: “Mount Purgatori! For those who have sinned, yet regretted their mistakes and begged for salvation, they are given a chance to redeem themselves by climbing up this mountain and crossing the challenges of each Terrace. It is also the primary home to the many clones of my half-brother, Master Fiendish.”

Peridot: “...This defies all logic and nature!”

Peccatori: “No fucking shit! The Inferno, Purgatori and Paradise are not the natural resident realms of your multiverse.”

Peridot’s mind was only filled with more questions. “What do you mean?”

Sir Peccatori hesitated for a moment, and then he explained “When your supreme designer deity, Rebecca Sugar, was asked if she was going to fill her world with evil to balance out the rightious, she answered “It’s a fantasy show, I think it’s a fantasy that no one is truly evil. I don’t know if that’s true in reality, but it’s certainly true in my fantasy. Why wouldn’t it be?”... Yes, that was true in the fantasy she created... Yet in our reality, that choice of hers lead to concequences, for Steven is truly righteous, missing a truly evil counterpart to ensure stability. This choice left behind an empty niche, and that niche has ever since been under threat of being filled... by those from beyond. My father, Vice, in command of my avatar ancestors, were the second invaders of her multiverse.”

Peridot barely managed to understand what Peccatori was talking about. “Your ancestors invaded this multiverse? And what do you mean they were the second!?”

Peccatori: “There have been three mass invasions upon the SU Multiverse and a fourth that still rages on. Following Vice and my ancestors, the third invaders were avatars of Provisor, a former sympathetic and empathetic creator diety, turned sadist and masochist due to having been fed-up with the curse of feeling the suffering of others. And the fourth invader is the Gary-Stu himself.”

Still trying to make sense of all this, Peridot felt as if Pec had left something out however. “Who were the first invaders?”

Peccatori: “...Extra-Dimensional Trolls.”

Peridot: “Trolls? The Hell are those!?”

Peccatori: “Ranging from reckless and irritating to apathetic and ravenous, this lot of entities feed upon the wrath of others, especially on each other. They along with other inter-dimensional entities forming some of the most toxic corners of the SU Cult, commonly fought across this multiverse over such petty tripe as personal opinions. One enormous flame war errupted over wether you, Peridot, should suck face with either Lapis Lazuli or with Amethyst. Many universes were rendered asunder due to their ignorant squabbling over that subject.”

Due to having watched and studied the relationships in Camp Pining Hearts so long ago as well as remembering Garnet’s reason for fusion being “Out of love!”, Peridot quickly realized what Pec meant by “sucking face” in outrage. “WHAT!? A BUNCH OF TROLLS RAMPAGED ACROSS THIS ENTIRE MULTIVERSE JUST BECAUSE THEY DISAGREED OVER WHO I SHOULD BE ROMANTICALLY ENGAGED WITH!? THIS IS INSANITY!!!”

Peccatori: “Actually it was called The Shipping Wars.”

Peridot: “AND THAT’S COMPLETE BULLSHIT!”

Peccatori: “True, and the Trolls were so insufferable that Provisor made it his goal to block them all and ban them from the SU Multiverse, as to rid himself of the compitition, and that was when the Gary-Stu made his entrance.”

Peridot couldn’t calm herself over such ludicrusy, yet her outrage was interrupted by their arrival at the the very base of the Anti-Purgatori, a large fraction of its residents includes countless clones of a rather thin man in green (Master Fiendish whom Peccatori mentioned earlier). Though never meeting them before, these clones were ominously familiar, as if they reminded her of herself.

Upon arrival, Peccatori is granted access to ascend higher up the mountain. “Whatever the case, since your primary sins upon Lazuli was pride over your ability to befriend your former victim, your envy over demanding all the information the former victim had, and wrath upon that former victim, I have persuaded that you can be given access to cross only the First, Second and Third Terraces and its challenge of enduring the hypercane of stones.”

Yet this was at the cost of leaving his Hellmouth Beast behind due to Purgatori being off limits for them, the two ascend while standing on that mount of Earth Peridot once settled herself down in as her new home. Upon their first step, Peridot notices the floor is made of Lazurite, Calcite and Pyrite, it felt as if she was walking on Lazuli’s corpse!

Upon noticing this, Pec asks ”Peridot, I’ll need you to let me safeguard your jar of Lapis’ ashes so that we don’t loose it so easily in this terrace.” as Peridot reluctantly gave it to him.

As they reach the First Terrace, a great burst of light errupts at the peak of the multiverse sized mountain, followed by what appeared to be a comit hurtling right into the Terrace of the Prideful.

”Also forgot to mention, there are also defenders of this multiverse against the invaders, however they have not had the best of motivations, the person who just crashed over there is one of them.” Pec concluded as they both leave their small Earth platform. The two then walk over to the crater that strange object left a mark on. And rising up from the rubble, was an enraged avian woman in blue 15th century plated armor.

“Let me guess, Paradise denied your salvation yet again... Jeanne D’Arc.” Peccatori said in a rather synical tone, before Peridot could ask him who this strange yet familiar looking woman was.

“And guess who I am going to vent my rage out on, for his primal ancestor’s cause of MY ETERNAL SUFFERING!” Joan of Arc, who is revealed to be regenerating from critical injuries, screeched at Peccatori in a hawkish tone! Yet before she advances, Peridot catches her raptorial eyesight. Upon seeing Peridot, Joan’s face immediately bared at her a sneering glare, even more vicious than at Pec.

“A Peridot? The fuck is this green pile of pigeon shit doing here!? EXPLAIN!” Joan squacked at the both of them as Peridot began to quiver in discomfort upon that glare.

Peridot answered, feeling it was her responsibility to explain. “I-I’ve come here to find a way to redeem myself and-“

Joan responds by taking one furious stomp foreward, before opening her enormous Perigrene falcon wings as a means to intimidate, and letting out a shrill screetch, like a red tailed hawk, right into Peridot’s face “SHUT THE FUCK UP YOU LITTLE GREEN PIGEON SHIT, I was demmanding Peccatori for answers!”

Peridot fell to the ground, curled up in a fetus position and trembling for mercy upon that interruption, yet Peccatori helps her back to her feet before answering Joan. “Peridot had failed to proporly apologize to an individual she interrogated during her servitude to an imperial regime, causing a Gary-Stu to harshly condem her, and she seeks forgiveness by bringing back the universe the Gary-Stu destroyed.”

Upon hearing that, Joan eyed Peridot again, this time with a malicious grin, yet this grin was just as clogged up with hatred. “And so you are here to tackle the trials of the First, Second and Third Terraces, Trial by Stone, Metal and Smoke, am I correct?”

“Y-y-yes, Jeanne D’Arc.” Peridot timidly replied. Yet Joan simply laughed her ass off, saying “First off, you will need something to arm yourself with!” before suddenly withdrawing and hurling a huge sword, stained in green fluids, right at Peridot. Closing her eyes and flailing her hands out to defend herself in terror, Peridot quivers for a while, until she opens her eyes to find herself levetating the sword that would have stabbed her!

“Holy C-Mn-Fe-Al-Ti-Mb-W-Mo-therfucker! It’s a larger than average sword! Mountain’s out here in the cosmos! But now you can use your newly found metal powers I terrorized you into discovering whenever. Swinging that sword around squealing out “IS THIS A WEAPON” like the blithering lunatic that you are!” Joan of Arc arrogantly bragged at Peridot!

Pec however, took concern over this sword. “Joan? Is that the sword one of my ancestors used when invading this multiverse?”

Jeanne: “Exactly!”

Peccatori: “...Peridot, I may need to explain about-“

Yet Joan interrupts Pec by opening a projection of the past;
www.deviantart.com/mustache-tw…
And in that projection, was a giant Peccatori avatar, far more fearsome than the current Pec avatar, and this one is recorded butchering a Peridot from another universe from long ago, by transforming her light projection into organic flesh! Peridot looks at the green stains on the blade she is levetating, and putting two and two together, she looks at Pec with horror.

Peccatori: “...Yes, it’s true. My ancestors committed this countless times. I apologize.”

However, Peridot was not angry at the Peccatori who stands next to her, trying to hold his hand saying “It’s not you’re fault-“

Capitalizing on her fear-mongering, Joan interrupts by adding salt to the wounds, taunting at Peridot “It was a vicious viceral mess, brutal and torturous and excrutiating, this sword was the Grim Reaper’s sythe that claimed the lives of countless versions of you from so many alternet universes!”

Peridot was silenced as she tried not to puke and Peccatori felt nothing but shame, all while Joan squinted here eyes and stared at Peridot, before she continued on her berating on the both of them. “And now that I had some time to study you, Peridot, I now know exactly why you want to revive your universe! Out of all the countless damned souls, it is something as ignorant and selfish as the motivation of apologizing to one former torture victim you fucked up trying to befriend due to your stupidity!... Speaking of torture victim...”

Joan quickly pulls out from a sack next to her hilt Peridot’s tape recorder. She then presses the play button and constantly repeats one line “And Lazuli would say “As impressed as I am of you back in the ship, I am even more impressed by your new compact look and capacity for friendship! I am so glad we are going to be living together!” over and over again in Peridot’s face. Peridot felt even more nautious upon hearing the arrogant ignorance of her own voice from the past.

As Joan repeats this recording, out of nowhere, she swoops right up at Pec and snatches him by his underbite before savagely hurling his face to the ground, and then stepping on his back as he lays down! Still recovering from his injuries since the time he recovered Peridot, Pec couldn’t be bothered to fight back, lying there with an expressionless face as if he were accepting this humiliation from Joan.

Then, from that same sack, Joan pulls out the finger screen that Peridot once used back when she had limb enhancers. With no effort at all, Joan activates the screen and plays an old video Peridot archived of herself, in a dark bleak green room, and by the corner was a heavily restrained Lapis Lazuli.

On the finger screen, Peridot’s homeworld self reports. “Logdate 4-7-2. Interrogation on this insufferable rogue Lapis Lazuli has hardly gotten me anywhere. I need more information on the Earth and so far this stubborn informant fails to further elaborate.” As Peridot’s Homeworld self monologues, the imprisoned Lapis Lazuli frantically struggles, pleading to Peridot “PLEASE! I don’t know anything more about the Earth! It’s what I’ve been trying to tell everyone! Please, no more, LEAVE ME ALONE!”

Looking back at this past of hers made Peridot shed tears of guilt, as her old Homeworld self resumes. “Still not cooperating as usual it seems. Perhapse a few thousand volts should get her to talk.” And at the same time, Joan repeats what Peridot says in the tape recorder.

“And you expected this former torture victim of yours to befriend you after what you did to her!?” Joan cackled at Peridot who dropped the sword she was levitating and quivered in regret.

Next, Joan drops the tape recorder and transforms the sword she handed to Peridot into a gem torture device, charges it up with that same amount of electricity, before chaining Peridot’s hands to that weapon and forces her aim it right atop of Pec’s face. Pulling off a malicious grin at Peridot, Joan says “I even modified this one to be dangerous towards organic life forms!” then rewinds the recorded tape to only have it repeat “And Lazuli would say “As impressed as I was with you in the ship”-“As impressed as I was with you in the ship”-“As impressed as I was with you in the ship-“

Peridot became paranoid at the sight of what’s happening, she tried to cry out “WAIT! WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH ME!? LEAVE US ALONE!” And that was when Jeanne violently forced Peridot to ram her newly formed gem torture device right into Peccatori’s jugular! The electric shock was horriffic, with Pec flailing and roaring in pain and agony! And as Pec writhed, on the finger screen, the restrained Lapis Lazuli is shown in just as much pain, while the recorded tape continued to repeat that one line saying “As impressed as I was with you in the ship-“

“STOP IT! LET GO OF ME! HAVE MERCY ON HIM!” Peridot screamed at Joan, yet as she cries out for Pec, on the finger screen the Homeworld Peridot says “Hmm, no, I don’t think that’s enough to make her talk, perhapse I should charge up the voltage to maximum overdrive...” while the the Lapis Lazuli screams “PLEASE! STOP! I’LL TELL YOU EVERYTHING!” Yet Homeworld Peridot simply replies “Oh you should have told me everything about the Earth beforehand you traitor to Homeworld!”

Joan of Arc listened only to what the Homeworld Peridot from the archives said, and forces Peridot to crank up her gem torture device to maximum overdrive. Now Peccatori is flailing like a beached whale, roaring and snarling as the electricity envelopes his body, just as the Lapis Lazuli in the video archive suffers the same as well.

And then the Homeworld Peridot stopped, for Jasper had entered the room, wanting to give Lazuli a more physical approach to the interrogation. Homeworld Peridot could not argue with that as she said “I guess that’ll be all from me, it seems Jasper needs a sand bag for some training, so I’ll be off with what useless informatin I could gather from Lapis Lazuli so far. Peridot, Facet 5.” and as Homeworld Peridot leaves the room, Jasper enters, cracking her knuckles, as Lazuli cries for mercy and the doors close the both of them in. Homeworld Peridot closes the screen afterwards...

Joan had this to say “I will admit, I do find your actions in the ship very “impressive!”

Peridot only shuttered upon hearing that as Joan continued “And as satisfied as I was hearing from my associates to what fate sealed that Jasper from your universe, despite being at the hands of the fucking Gary-Stu... I think you know where this is going by now, Peridot!...” Joan then removes the gem destableizer off of Pec’s neck, and then she converts Peridot’s sword into a pair of metal gauntlets before forcing them onto Peridots hands, chains them up and yanks her arms towards Pec.

Surprisingly, unlike the Lapis in the video archives, Peccatori was still his calm and sombre self, simply saying “After this, will you be satisfied with your vengeance, Joan?” As Joan replies “There is no such thing as full satisfaction exacting vengeance upon YOU!”

It felt like a day had passed by, until Joan was finally finished forcing Peridot to sledgehammer her gauntlets into Peccatori’s face, and then before kicking him off the edge of the Third Terrace, Joan concluded to him “Now you’ll be the one falling from grace!” As Pec replied “I never rose to grace to begin with.”

With Pec falling into anti-purgatory, Peridot, now freed from the chains as her gauntlets transform back into her sword, cried out at Joan in outrage “WHAT THE HELL DID HE EVER DO TO YOU!?”

Joan opened up another video projection. In that projection was a much frailer, more frightened Joan, chained up in a dungeon. And in that dungeon, yet another Peccatori enters. Pulling off an evil smile, on screen this Pec tells Joan that “You need to be relieved of your armor as women are not allowed to wear such.” Outraged, Joan retaliates by kicking at Pec. The projection then skips to Peccatori misinforming an English King that Joan is a Witch for refusing to take off her armor, followed by Joan being burnt at the stake. The projection then cuts to Joan at the gates of Paradise, blocked by guards talking down at her, stating “It doesn’t matter if you were trying to protect your virginity, committing harm on another violates your right to enter salvation!” And then the projection shuts off.

With Peridot backing away in shock, Joan snatches her by the gem on her forehead and furiously squawks into Peridot’s face “If it wasn’t for the primal ancestor of that fucking ape, my primal ancestor would have embraced salvation. No avatar descendants like me, no extra-dimensional wars across existence, no mass suffering. And what the fuck is the point of being a saint when denied PARADISE!?”

”I...I don’t know!” Was all Peridot could say.

“Here, let me show you how ill prepared you are for redemption through Trial by Stone, Metal and Smoke!” Joan seals Peridot’s eyes with metal wires and forces her to wear grey robes before hurling her into the onslaught of the all three of the bottom Terraces, of the Love Perverted, adorned again in Lazurite, Calcite and Pyrite across the floor Peridot lands onto, and hailing down from the sky upon her were enormous carvings and statues, ranging from pebbles to larger than universes, all made out of the same three materials! And to top it all off, Peridot was also being strangled in a sulfuric smoke. Peridot tried as she can to use her new metal powers and the giant sword she was received, yet what could she possibly do against such a monumental challenge of Perverted Love?

Collision after collision Peridot is pummeled by stones, and every time she was destabilized into her gem, Joan re-stabilized her to continue the trial. Finally, Peridot couldn’t withstand any more and could only lay down on the floor in exhaustion. Joan swooped in like a Raptor and snatched Peridot by her gem yet again.

And to conclude, Joan says to Peridot before dropping her into the anti-purgatory “From what I saw in your past, Lapis Lazuli will never forgive you! Just like I will never forgive Sir Peccatori, and just like...” Too dazed to properly see, Peridot begins hallucinating when she tries to look up to see Joan. And from her hallucinations, Peridot saw Joan’s silhouette closely resembling Lapis Lazuli screaming out “...I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU!”

And with one savage strike from Joan’s gauntlet, Peridot bursts into a green cloud of mist with but her gem remaining, as Jeanne D’Arc drops her off the mountain into the planes below. Blackness followed...

“...Peridot...Peridot?...Peridot, are you alright?...”

It took a while, but eventually Peridot took form again, and as she did she saw Peccatori, impaled to the ground with that same giant sword, yet miraculously not only was he alive, but he behaved as if he did not feel anything.

Peridot decided this should be her chance to test out her metal powers as Pec is unable to pull it off his chest. After a few tries, Peridot manages to pull the sword off Pec as she tells him “I should be asking you if you’re alright! I’m so sorry for what I did to you!”

“Why apologize for punishing me over what your alternate selves suffered through!? You should never even forgive me for what my avatar ancestors did to yours from the alternate timelines, what my primal ancestor did to Jeanne D’Arc’s primal ancestor!” Peccatori asks.

And Peridot helps Peccatori up as she answers “Yes, it’s your avatar ancestors who brought carnage across this multiverse! Yes, it’s your primal ancestor who ruined Jeanne’s life! Their fault! His fault! I will not forgive them for what they did because I never seen them feel sorry or apologize! But not YOU! You yourself, their descendant, you didn’t do any of that! It’s not your fault!”

that orror, that is understandable, peridot committed some sins when she was just with steven, she had a crazy idea to destroy and conquer the planet in the name of blue and yellow white diamond, but she does not deserve to die for something like that

Peridot did make amends to many of the things she did, like working with Steven and the Crystal Gems, which is why I don’t mention that. Yet she didn’t do so well making amends with Lazuli back in Barn Mates and she fully made amends with Lazuli off screen. Peridot also doesn’t die in this chapter or the following chapters either. Actually Peccatori revived her in the first chapter after the Gary-Stu shattered her. Joan of Arc is just simply very rough when it comes to testing lost souls through trials, and due to hating Peccatori more, she simply forced Peridot to torture Pec as an act of double revenge on him. Basically the story will eventually end with Peridot forcing the Gary-Stu to bring back her universe so that she could get a second chance to befriend Lazuli.

And lots of people keep thinking lapis is the undisputed abuser when in reality it’s a form of karma Peridot receives in the show. I’m simply taking that karma and making it a lot more obvious.

How many messages go over their heads?

Yup, some people think she is a sociopathic criminal that deserves to be shattered.

The problem is that you need a LOT of intuition to understand what makes Lapis who she is. And certain people simply judge her by her actions on screen alone.
