I just grabbed a bunch of African elephant photos off the web, printed them out, surrounded myself with them and started sketching! I also googled for headdresses for colour.

Lovely details, there. I get a good feeling of this elephant's size on this picture, and looking at her eyes, it's evident she knows she's an important individual. She looks confident in her stride. ^^
I love all the little details on the head decoration. All the colors are just lovely together.
I just had a look through the site, and I have to say, that is one beauitiful set of cards in the making. I love how some of them are just so subtle, hinting at the number and suit ( like a few of the Hearts suit cards using heart-shaped leaves to represent themselves ). If I had the money, I would certainly consider buying a packet when it's finished.
