A couple of adult design concepts for my fan-characters, River (the doe) and Raven (the buck). They are Bambi and Faline's second-born children (Geno and Gurri being their first-born children).

Yes, River is bigger then her brother. Faline didn't know she was pregnant with twins. She bore River on a river-bank (the newborn fawn fell into the water and Faline had to save her).

River was a very big fawn and grew up to be an enormous doe. Some creatures in the forest mistake her for an elk. She's very tom-boyish and despite her near-death-experience with the river, she loves the water.

The next day after giving birth to River, Faline went into labor again, only this time, she was on the meadow. Just as the pains started, the ravens above sent out the alarm that Man was in the forest. Faline had to give birth in a cleft in the earth, the opening hidden by overgrown grass. The hunter was at the entrance of the den at the time Raven was born.

Raven was sickly because he couldn't get his first milk (colostrum), and he almost died a few times during his first winter. He did survive, but his unhealthiness as a fawn caused problems in his development. He never lost his baby-spots, even after he got his antlers.

Done with colored pencils and sharpie. No refs.
