O...M...G...that is the most kickass thing I have ever seen.
It kind of looks like the Reaper from Mass Effect.

That was done with Zbrush 2. Possibly a bit of Maya for the base mesh.

This nails it. Head resembles that of an octopus but at the same time alien.
Really beautiful piece of work.

I can't wait for you to color this bad boy, maybe give him a body too. Looks totaly sick and i think im going to have to look in to getting zbrush....do you think it's worth the effort?

Alas, there will be no coloured version of this model... as I've done a more detailed version, which can be found somewhere on my Devart page. I heartily endorse Zbrush. It's well worth picking up a copy. I bought a copy a few years ago and never feel like I made a wrong decision. You can't go wrong with Zbrush for organic modelling.

Have you ever bothered to use it on something that wasn't organic? I've never seen or herd of that but i wanna know what i can before i get my comp back. When it gets out of the shop i plan on trying out the trial version. Thanx man!

I haven't used it to do non-organic objects but other do. You can crease edges and the likes to get nice hard edges but I find you don't get enough control compared with other 3D packages. Best for you to check out the gallery in the Pixolagic website and see what people have done.

That, one hundred foot high, in vile greens, rendered on a body of equal brilliance = death from heart failure.

Great job, just did a Cthulhu model myself, interesting to see the different perspectives. I think yours is much more sinister and dark. hehe.

Yes, this is why I don't swim in the ocean ... ever.
Nice work capturing that creepiness all such creatures seem to possess.
