"Quick" Tutorial I did onHOW TO MAKE AN ANIMATED ICON/AVATAR.
- Using Photoshop (CS3)

Ps: Should I mention? now that I think about it, I only discovered I could animate things through photoshop thanks to my friend ~daniedesigns ! and SHE got me addicted... Thank you?

You can always download the trial on the official adobe site. Now they have CS5, it's worth trying out, it's really cool!

This helped so much! but dA won't let me use the animated version of my avatar cuz it says "cannot fit to resize" so I can only use a still picture.... do you know why that is? I did 50x50 pixels

I would really like to know how to make an animated banner, and it actally flickers through the pictures and stuff when it's posted.

Do you mean it's just pictures scrolling or interactive?
usually banners are flash but otherwise, its the same concept of frames.

this tutorial is awesome but do you know why some gifs move slower once you upload them?
It looks fine in photoshop but once its on DA, it moves at like half speed.
Any clue?

sometimes when the gif is a bigger file, you have to wait a while for it to load and then it should move at normal speed

i think it has something to do with firefox, cause after its finished loading its still slow,
so i might try getting rid of a few frames.

Make sure your animation is open:
Window > Animation
(window is on the same row as File etc..)
