Description
ball point pen
after 'Night on Bald Mountain' from Disney's Fantasia
talking with my good art bud Rebecca DragonGirl787 we were discussing the gripe of not having the time to dedicate to creating art for ourselves due to one thing or the other always getting in the way!
well that made me decide that no matter what i have weighing on me or what tasks i need to do, i'm putting everything on hold just i can scribble out one blasted pen sketch for myself!
note the error on the date! ........OOPS!

As I've said before, I absolutely love this piece! And definitely a fantastic subject to destroy some lack of arting!
Even in the pen the sense of contrast and dominance of the darkness lends great drama and atmosphere! You always capture that so well in your work!
and Of course the power emanating from Chernabog is just badass.
Awesome work as always dude!

thanks Rebecca
yeah, i definitely draw from the well with this guy! (no pun intended)
but there's always a satisfaction i get drawing him or a likened figure!
drawing Demons and/or Skulls definitely has a charm like no other.
(my brains just not forming the wording proper) but in my drawing the feel/atmosphere i try to create in any drawing/painting/sketch is my own regurgitated stylizing/impression of all the Rembrandt paintings/etchings i've fawn over time and time again :3
Gustave Dore is another artist i always aspire to as well.

You're of course welcome as always!
haha, I can see that!
theres so much passion and energy in this piece!
I've very much taken a leaf out of your book recently and have done a lot of skulls and dark gothic stylyed things in my art now we've got a bit more free reign on our course. Its awesome especially as one of our current 'response words' is 'frightening'. Just my cup of tea! >D
I can definitely get the Rembrandt feel from this!
saw some of his work in London at the National Gallery the other week and there is something to eb said for seeing his work in person! it was amazing!
although I'll have to look up the work of Gustave Dore as I'm not familiar

you got to see some original Rembrandt????
that's fantastic!!!!
probably works i've not seen in person? i'm jealous!
but i can imagine how amazing it was! paintings of his i've seen dozens of times before are like new every time i see them!
i look forward to seeing you gothic art entries, always my favorite subject!
if you google image search Gustave Dore 'paradise lost' or 'divine comedy' you should get a good eyefull of some of his best art. DUDE IS AMAZING!!!!!!!
