As fellow a fellow one piece trash fan let me cry with you.
This is absolutely beautiful, breathtakingly so. The pure emotion of anguish, sadness and heartbreak all meshed into one is simply godlike perfection. The tears have a kind of "sepia" tone to them if you will, which makes them look like tears of remembering the the cold hard past which haunts and prevails to the present. Emphasis is given particularly on the eye, expressing feeling beyond what words are capable and very powerful emotions at that. The background gives a feeling of a dystopia with no hope, only cold and rejection, no warmth from anyone or anything, pure and utter misery.
There are so many things I can say about this drawing-- from the absolutely stunning colouring to the unbelievably amazing portrayal of human emotions.
Simply outstandingly impressive.

yeah his past is something that really got me. like...because i also come from an abusive family and many times had run away, and the damage and the lack of self worth that my parents and family gave me still sticks with me today. I understand it because like, i was always told if I wasn't perfect then I wouldn't be loved, especially me because i was the smartest child, but also the kindest and everythin. i was always told to break myself to please them, that my individuality wasn't wanted and all that mattered is if i brought them the requirements they had. beatings, abuse, isolation, i was told i would never be a daughter to my dad and that i was a failure and i was a blemish on the family's name
like
i've been following sanji for around 14 years now, and i've always loved his character. what hurts more than anything is when i go back and i read through his character development and the small little perks in his characterization and i can see the abuse in him. i can see it and its so subtle and so genius that it hurts. because everything, from how he will now sacrifice himself to make sure someone won't go through what he did, to how he protects and loves women obsessively because his entire life has been lacking with love and he's trying to compensate, to how he always feels useless and tells people he's not worth it, to how he always separates himself from the crew during stressful times and takes care of things himself
Its clear because all of these things, and how fucking hardened and brutal he is, all represent his struggles. But the worst thing is probably the fact that he still remains so fucking kind. so lovely. so amazing and generous and he's so selfless. because i know how much that must hurt-- to be thrown away, used, abused, broken and still want the best for everyone. sanji is a character that resonates so deep within me, and for more than just the fact i've known him for 14 years. its like having a best friend that always hid their past, and then suddenly you find out-- oh fuck. we've gone through the same thing. especially when you're the one who usually hides it
