Yes, that is my hand in the pic. This is a pic of the fox kit the doctor at work had raised before he got sent off to the reserve. I loved him to death, he was so sweet. This was just a pic of me playing with him, and him showing how submissive he was to me hehe ^^I felt honored if only for a short time, that I could call myself friends with a fox ^_^

Lol my cats bend that way all the time, sometimes they sleep in such a position. Felines just naturally have a more flexible spine, and I know foxes are canine, but of all canine species, foxes are probably the most flexible. That's probably why I like foxes so much, they're very cat-like for a canine hehe.

Well, you have to jump through a thousand hoops to get a license, but you can own any wild animal as a pet if you do. On the other hand, it's much easier if you just find a breeder, I believe there are people starting to breed fennec foxes as pets, and there other breeders who have worked at domesticating red and silver coated foxes to the point where they are very much dog-like. This little guy wasn't a pet though.

I still tand by what I said about netuering being wrong, but I said that when I was truly naive, like the author said lol.
I now think that if it was the best thing for him, then what right do I have to say anything?
All that matters is the fox is safe now right?

As far as I know he is still safe. I do not work for that doctor anymore, so I really could not say for certain, but there's no reason why he shouldn't be. As for the neutering thing, well, none of us were really sure why they requested he be neutered before going to the reserve, but I'm sure they had their reasons. It wasn't a zoo after all, he was only there to live out his life as an animal that was too wild for any household, but too tame to be in the wild. They probably didn't have the resources to care for a new litter of kits had he bred with any of their females. Who knows really? So long as he's safe and happy, you're right

Well the Doctor said they were making him jump through all kinds of hoops to get a license to keep him, and he said in the end it wasn't worth it, because he couldn't house break him for beans lol. I personally don't know what it takes to get a license, so I just took him at his word.

It's weird, I know. But when the Dr. finally found a reserve for him to live on, they for some odd reason (none of us could understand why, but whatevs) requested that he be neutered first, or they wouldn't take him. So that was it. We neutered him and sent him off the the reserve o.O
He's ok though, they Dr. and his family still go see him every once in a while, and he remembers them too, cause he runs up to the fence when he sees them, and rubs up against them and such, hehe it's cute.

it kinda saddens me to know a wild animal(not really anymore) had been nuetered for a reason other than medical purposes- that's one thing in life he wont fulfill

lol TOO true, that's why the doctor couldn't keep this guy as a pet (well that and he couldn't get a license to keep him), he could not house break him to save his life!
