Description
Love, trust, care...It would be a travesty to label the feelings between father and daughter with just those words alone.
PS - curves, selective color

I love hands. They say so much, and this is a touching shot. I read the comments and understand why you wouldn't want to use the flash. I hate using flash. The slight grain and softness just add to the emotional feeling for me. I love the contrasts - the texture of her smooth, youthful skin and his more aged skin, the contrast in the size of the their hands and how they stand out against the dark background. I do see the fine white hair thing in the upper left corner - it's not too distracting, but it is there.
I saw a group of photos somewhere of hands portraying emotions and the people. There was the wrinkled dark hand of an old woman holding a locket with a picture, the hand of a young doctor supporting a baby's head, the old hand of a vetran holding his medal, - they tell so much. Great capture.

singled out body parts are great....we never really see them apart from the whole, so when we do, they have this huge impact on us and our senses.
thanks for the comment, kristin!

This is nice. I think hands are a great way to show emotion. Nice framing

really meaningful, sentimental photo.
The focus seems just a tad off. Maybe more of both hands could have been in focus.
And changes only if you want to manip certain aspects -
The two stripes, from pants im guessing, you could use the surround color to clone these out. I think this would give this shot a better flow.
And also the small bit of hair glinting up on the top left of the frame could be cloned out, it's just a tiny bit distracting.
Just suggestions though. :hmmm:

couldnt have had any more focus...already ISO 800 and f/1.8, and I refuse to use flash...the depth of field is about 3/4 an inch. i didnt want to make to many changes to the image - i wanted to present this as the camera got it, not in a manipulated sense. the hair i didnt notice before on my monitor, that could be burned.

thanks rachel. i love the simplicity of shots like this, yet the amount of emotion that plays through them are heavy to me.
