Description Full size version is 1200 pixels wide and very very long

I planned to make this tutorial for months but never got around to actually making it. I finally took the pictures while working on christmas presents.

If you have any questions, let me know!

Oh, and here are a few links to paperstar tutorials, in case you haven't tried to make them yet (I just grabbed a bunch of tutorials from the search, there are tons more out there ):

I'm so glad that this is useful for people
I linked the first few tutorials I found in a search, I thought giving several will get everyone one they can understand. Hm, maybe I should go tell people when I linked their stuff.

It does help; I've been trying to figure out how to varnish them properly. I've been using a small paintbrush and diluted Mod-Podge or whatever that glue stuff is called...

Yeah, took me a while to figure this out, that's why I thought I'd share. I worked with brushes first too but it's almost impossible to paint the varnish on. This makes it so much easier and the varnish coating a lot thicker, thus the stars are more durable. They won't get squished out of shape

And no wondering where to put them while they're still wet

word. I LOVE paper stars, but my asshole cats always find them and tear them in some epic gladiator tournament every night. This, is awesome. Nice job.

Not sure if this will keep the cat from eating them... better make sure the cats doesn't get close to the drying stars though, or you'll have them sport interesting fur patterns for a while
It's tedious work, but definitely worth it!

no, they just like the allure of unfolding them! We had these little tiny Christmas presents as decorations and they systematically unwrapped all of them! Plus I do most of my work in the garage. Do you think Sculpey glaze would work?

Ah, so they'd get frustrated when the little stars are suddenly not unwrappable anymore
Not sure if sculpey glaze is toxin free, I don't use that stuff. Check the ingredients. Sculpey glaze is terribly expensive though, so you might want to get a big can of toy glaze at a hardware store instead.

ah, good idea! Sculpey glaze hardens in the bottle really fast too. Like once I open it, I have like a week to use it before it goops up.

I think that stuff is just totally overpriced. There are some cheaper alternatives. Though for polymer clay you always have to be careful as it might dry up and then get soft and sticky again after half a year or so
