I have not read this novel..
But I don't think Fluttershy is not happy here, her hair does not have magical powers, as in the cartoon about Rapunzel by Disney..
She's just shy :3

I did not come up with a detailed story, I just drew how her haircut might look after a long stay at home.
She is my favorite MLP character, sometimes I draw her. Maybe one day I will draw her house too
