Very nice! The sepia works well... as well as the wide angle!

Good job with the snow, too... I can't seem to get it exposed properly.

Great classic shot; sepia and all corners angles and perspective!

thanks very much. Love that old barn. I have a photo of the community that built it... at a "barn raising". Rather fun.

Thanks so much. Yeah, I have this new wide angle lens. 10-20mm and it's fun to use for some things.

Sometimes I really do love what that lens does to a scene!

plus i love the composition.
horizons with the focus piece in the center can be boring...but this isn't. probably something to do with that fencepost.

myrnajacobs In reply to glassbreaker [2006-02-18 18:05:47 +0000 UTC]

It's interesting because someone told me I should remove the fence post. funny... Idon't generally change things I put up... but I do think about it.

glassbreaker In reply to myrnajacobs [2006-02-19 22:12:33 +0000 UTC]

i think if you removed it, it would probably kill the composition a bit...i don't know. the eye might get stuck in one place.

for some reason this makes me think of "a series of unfortunate events"
...and also a horror movie.

and for this i fave.

me too.

makes it worth while when the viewer sees something in a picture. that's when it transcend the elements of design into art.

Beautiful tones in this one - love the angle that makes it look like it stands on a hill, and the smoothness of the snowdrifts! Wonderful .

It is on a hill. My husband's grandfather build his home and barn on a hill so he had a view of the lake.

I like the feel of this picture. But the left hand fence takes the eye away out of the frame and is too distracting. The barn looks great. Would it work with a portrait crop?

myrnajacobs In reply to paulreid [2006-02-15 16:58:09 +0000 UTC]

You are one of the few people here I actually take advice from. LOL I see what you mean. The fence fights with the primary part of the image. I don't usually change something already up but I'll work on it and see how it looks in portrait crop. Thanks for the idea!

The composition in this image is so spot on! I really think its great. Great choice on sepia as well. My only thing is, how woul you feel about dodging the front of the barn? Unless its dark intentionally, I think it would add to the image if it were lighter. Otherwise an increadible image!
