"First Year Together" Yep, me and my fiance have been together for a year today. ^^ I drew this for him. Started on it b4 the sun came up and didnt finish till 3:00pm. XDI tried to finish it before he woke up, but i wound up hiding it from view behind my laptop screen sitting at weird angles so he couldnt see it till it was finished. Haha!
I lovers him so much.
Its crazy to think that its already been a year!
(And i know their will be many more to come, he is my forever and always, first and last love.)
I used a photo as a reference, but changed the color of the wolves to fit me and my fiance. The original photo has to be my most favorite wolf photo of all time.
You try not to attach human emotions to animals too much, but to me, the photo shows clear affection of love between two mated wolves.
I thank the wolves for sharing such a touching moment and i thank the photographer, for being in the right place at the right time to take the perfect photo.

yep, I said that indeed! (this is not referred to the Norse creature, but to the wolf god in TS who is named after him^^) and I felt also sorry for Fenrir, as I felt sorry for the wolf in the original story of Peter and the Wolf (but I love the Templeton version of it -see my avatar and ID- The Disney one is just shit, to be honest..)

Ok, this is very beautiful drawing, and I love your and your fiance story behind it! You did great work on the wolves anatomy and fur, so well done for that!

About the background, my tip for you is if you don't want to mess with the background, just don't!
By this I mean that you do not have to give any effort in the background or fill all the paper with it, you can make some very smooth and delicate shading around your main characters (e.g. - [link] , [link] ) that will emphasize them and make them literally "pop out of the page". If the main characters are dark - go for the light tones on the background and if they are light - go for dark tones. In this particular drawing the background could be light at the top and with darker tones to the bottom as the female wolf is white.
You are getting better and better with every drawing, keep up the awesome work!

Awww, this soooo sweet!
First of all I think this is a magnificent idea as a present, especially for such an occassion. I'm happy for you that you have found the person of your love, a partner you're willing to walk your path with. And as you may already know wolves (as well as some eagles and owls) mate for life as well - as soon as the leading male and female have found each other, they spend the rest of their life together... So this is a wonderful idea to express the intensity of your bond and show your beloved how much he means to you in fact.
And now something concerning the art itself... I have to admit that I like your drawing very much! It is very very beautiful and I love how you did this. The wolves look just amazing - features, fur, shading, everything is just about perfect.
And I love how you consider yourself and your fiance to be a white and a black wolf - contrasting but complementing each other perfectly (as a martial artist I have to think of the "Ying and Yang" symbol right away 
So all in all I really love this piece and the story/ idea behind it! Keep on creating fabulous canine art like that! I really love all your works...
And of course I also wish you and your fiancee all the best for your relationship and future!

He comes from a much darker background than me, so while mine is solid white, his is jet black, but he has a white patch on his chest (though u cant see it in the pic) it represents that he is pure of heart.
We have soooooo much in common its scary. Lol.
So i had to make him a wolf. And yes the mates for life thing is very symbolic to us.
While he has had others, he is my first, and i would never have anyone else. He says i saved him from a darker fate.
We were both lost and in a dim place and we found eachother, and we dearly love, and have a incredibly strong bond with eachother.
We truely are together for life.
