Since it seems increasingly likely that Flash Sentry is going to be part of the series, eventually, I guess that I have to get used to it. My only real concern is something that you have touched on here. Twilight Sparkle is not a young girl with her first crush... she's a single mom going out on the dating scene. Twilight already has a boy in her life who loves her very much, and whose life will change immensely if Twilight becomes involved in a relationship with Flash, or any character, really.
I hope that the creative staff, and the fandom, remembers that there are already two principal characters living in the library, and that a boy is going to have to share the girl who played a primary role in raising him and who has been the most important creature in his life with another male for the first time.
I want Spike to be part of the conversation, and if this has to happen... then I want Flash to like Spike, too. I want Spike to be the one to recognize that Flash can be the stallion who Twilight can love, because "it takes one to know one".

It would certainly be quite the thing to see the relationship that would build out of this, however, the evolution of the situation tells us that apparently, this Flash Sentry thing is going to be taken out almost completely, you know, since Mcarthy and company said that the EG and FIM storylines are going to be completely separated.
Although I cannot say I'm sorry. By my previous experience I would say that if this were to be introduced ( Again, I find it very unlikely) the staff would abandon the development in the Spike-Twilight relationship and the two males would barely have any contact whatsoever, dropped in favor of cheap romantic humour.
Personally I wouldnt like to see romance in the show until the holes in the Twilight-Spike relationship are filled and Twilight recognizes openly that she loves and needs Spike in her life as much as Spike does.
If this happens, I just hope to be horribly mistaken and that the writers will touch this very interesting topics.

I certainly agree that the track record for such things isn't very good. I also fear that the familial SpiLight relationship would be discarded in favor of the "romantic" FlashLight ship. None of it leaves me feeling very good.
Ms. McCarthy said that Sunset Shimmer and Flash Sentry would not be appearing in season four, but any seasons beyond that remains open to anything, as far as I'm aware. As I said, I can only hope that if this "becomes a thing" that the staff makes sure to remember our favorite dragon in any changes in Twilight's life.

Then again, Hasbro doesnt really care about bronies, they care about the target demographic, and what they say goes, so if we may get a better idea of how this could evolve, maybe we should check on the market research the brainiacs at Hasbro are working with, although I doubt we can get to see that.

meghan said that EQ is canon, but it doesn't affect the series (i remember a tweet of meghan saying that is canon) maybe well see some flash sentry in the show soon, i know she mentioned too long ago that he's not a character in season 4, but when she tweet that they didn't started making the episodes so it is PROBABLY that Flash sentry will appear on the show.
Besides, there is a petition in change.org about save flash sentry, with the enough supporters he might be in season 4, and it's getting more and more every day.

Well, only time will tell the truth. The writers have 2 choices, give flash sentry an appropriate character development in next season(s) or drop him into eternal oblivion. the decisions lies in their hands, even if ''save flash sentry'' is a success, we cannot guarantee that DHX will make it (Considering that season 4 is in development right now and it will be ready in a few months). but we loose nothing by trying it, is the least we can do.
