I don't tend to put a lot of rules because I'm just starting out with adopts, and so I'm not sure where to start with rules. Except that they tag me in any art they do with the adopted character, since I wanna see how creative others can be. My only rule so far.

i never used to put rules up back when i started and i do tend to use different 'styles' simply because i can. this is a really good guideline though!

I tend to use different bases for my adoptables, which explains the different styles that are in my art gallery. And I personally don't like having two accounts to keep track of, one account is perfectly fine for me. Besides, if I have two accounts then I might just ignore the other one and have all my focus on just one mere account. It's much more simpler to have one account for everything, so you can keep track of things whenever you're online. And not everyone has to have two accounts, someone can just have one main account for just about everything.

I built my own bases, but I require that my watchers note me for design preference. However, currently my adoptables are free until I have the time to create pre-designed batches. I also use a key number system so I can keep track of any stolen adoptables.

Another thing to mention is that watermarking is good during adoptions to prevent theft, just don't mark the actual adoptable, just the advertisement.

i use bases for my adopts, thus explaining multiple styles. i've thought about hiding the comments of this one troll that's been bothering me, but i don't want to seem suspicious.

i don't have a main account because i left it because i got invovled in drama.

Excuse me, but I've found a possible design thief.Β zamuki.deviantart.com/

Here is the design I almost bought:
coiored.deviantart.com/

and here are the designs they posted just yesterday:
zamuki.deviantart.com/art/Cani…

They are quite different, as you can see, which is pretty suspicious to me. I asked for they're main account and I'll update you on a response.

They have also only been a member for a week.

i would think its a thief, i seen alot of thief's in my years being here and from the styles being diffrent i would think so if the person cant back up that they really made it with some friends it would be a red flag for me.

GUNSANDSHlPS In reply to Thestar78956 [2016-11-01 20:03:40 +0000 UTC]

the problem with the "different styles" thing is that it's usually linearts and not theft so it can be hard to tell;;

I gave my old adopts that never sold so she could sell them, and I also draw the adopts for her since she cannot draw with a mouse and I have a touch screen (and pen) computer. Would she label as stealing? I don't want her to be labeled as that, I also made sure I deleted the adopts off of my account. I don't think that would be stealing, would it be more as I let her adopt them and I let her resell the adopts? (Sorry if this makes no sense I'm just worries for her sake because I don't want her account being flagged because of me).

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Nervulc In reply to LillyBliss [2016-06-07 06:47:24 +0000 UTC]

No worries, that was done with your permission. As long as she credits you for both the art and the design, there is no theft involved.Β

Dancing-Kitten In reply to DuckyDaze [2016-08-23 21:59:52 +0000 UTC]

Nothing here means that an adopt is definitely stolen, these are just signals that it might be.

Using your own art and designs is not theft.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

MollyCaz [2016-04-03 23:20:32 +0000 UTC]

Another red flag: You can also see if the handwriting for the numbers labeling the adopts (or the words next to the adopts) are different on each batch

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Sokiawolf-Adopts In reply to MollyCaz [2016-09-11 00:04:19 +0000 UTC]

What if you type numbers in one batch and write in others? Like the writing is the same (ish) but some are typed. Would you be suspiciousΒ of it?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MollyCaz In reply to Sokiawolf-Adopts [2016-09-11 01:38:09 +0000 UTC]

Hmm... probably not. Sometimes you can just feel too lazy to try to write the number down neatly. XD

Sokiawolf-Adopts In reply to MollyCaz [2016-09-11 03:54:40 +0000 UTC]

Well. For me it's depending on the program. One has an easy typed one and one I have to write on cause I don't know where the text is. (It looks nicer when I type it)

When paying for an adopt the buyer should insist on paying thur the commissions widget. That is the only way you can get your points back!

Also sending out bewares on bad sellers helps.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

vvinsoli [2016-02-27 20:22:35 +0000 UTC]

Different styles isn't really a big problem. People make linearts all the time for people to use as adoptables. I'd rather use lineart adoptables then make my own lines for adoptables, since the last time I made my own lines for an adoptable, it took awhile to create. With linearts, all you need to do is color them in!

Marshoupial [2016-01-30 23:10:55 +0000 UTC]
