Also, dA Muro drawings that have a 15-second replay of cut and paste are a good sign of stolen adopts.

Where someones art has been stolen by a random person of the internet then sold for a fast amount of money [usually points]
they can transfer all stolen points to a different account then deactivate and get away with it because DA is too large a site for them to care.

people where thinking i was stealing XD
it just takes time
doing collab with people and showing the art you do is yours
helps alot ^^
always be nice most people who steal act oddly like in the pic

For those who don't manage to sniff out a fake in time, I'm one of a couple people willing to create replacement characters for those who accidentally bought stolen adopts. They might not have been vigilant, but most people don't know they need to until they've been ripped off, and it's not fair to them to have to lose points AND a (would-be) character because of a dishonest person.

I don't really know if I have been ripped off or not, because I recently bought adoptables, and I had given the points immediately and I was just going to download the files today, but earlier I saw that the account of the seller had been deactivated... now, I'm not sure for what reason, but it's sad if the reason is art theft, because all the adoptables I "own" are from that account.. T^T...

Well, if you go to the google main page, and click "images", you can upload one of the adopts you got, and it'll search the internet for anything identical. If you find something, check to make sure that it wasn't posted before you remember adopting the character.
But sometimes adopt sellers don't deactivate because of theft, sometimes they simply tire of the account. I don't want to make any accusations about someone who can't offer their side of the story.
