not every legit adopt maker has rules but its always more trusting to see them because it means a artist cares about the designs their selling!!
But linking to a main account is more helpful than anything else!

And cheeldruns, this is why I do not use separate accounts for my adoptables. Litterally I'm a noob to making adopts and constantly change style to find what I like. And I think I finally did. :'D

I slightly disagree with some of this ( I realize that it is old and you'd probably change it. ) but I recently made my account, fox-mint for adoptables and I just joined this week, only have one, and am using a free icon, but I don't steal. Overall, great job.

I agree with most of this stuff. However, the part about if they joined within the week is just unfair. I don't see what that has to do with anything. Also, some new people don't know what to put on a rules sheet. I don't put rules up, and I don't want anyone thinking I'm stealing.

and its not unfair. if its a brand new account with no main account theres no reason to be making adoptables within the first week?
no one knows the work of the artist or anything.
its not hard to just wait a couple days and post OTHER art Β to get people who know who you are.

A good guide, but I think you should add something about genuine adoptable creators that use bases. i sometimes use bases as well as original stuff, i dont want people thinking im a thief D:

This is a very good guide. But now I'm a little nervous...I buy bases and sell adoptables with them, all in varying styles and shading, because my own linearts are no good. I hope people don't think I steal. :s

There's a watermark on the gryphon base I use by ChammiBee, and I can't come up with an icon to symbolize an adoptables account, so...

This is my main and only account, but I also sell adopts. Luckily no one has tried to falsely accuse me of anything as that is becoming just as much a problem as having been stolen from. As far as I know, I haven't been stolen from yet. I also prefer using my own linework. I do have a hard time selling my adopts at times so maybe that's why no one steals from me XD

Goodness, I hate it when these things happen. I make adoptables and bases but even though my info says "joined this week", this is my second account.

I dislike it even more when someone say, "you stole!" and they have no evidence; or they give a link saying I stole to some picture that doesn't even relate to my base or adoptable.

I credit the base maker. I need to start adding rules though I do free and draw to adopts so I don't think there are much rules to them. this is very helpful i'll look out for stolen ones
