Description
*Update!This is the final version of the house, diffuse, normal maps and spec are all in there. Final poly count - 2982 tris.
Not exactly sure the appropriate category I should submit this to, but let's say fan art should be fine.
Modeled in Softimage;
Textures in Photoshop&Zbrush;
Rendered in Marmoset Toolbag.
The ArenaNet internship art test is going on at the moment. Well, the environment one is canceled (maybe they stuck with the initial deadline, who knows), but I figured it would be a waste to just leave this one unfinished, so I'm keeping working on it.

Thanks a lot!
By the way, you never got back to me on the note I sent you concerning some concept art for Snowflakes. Should I take it as "no thanks, I have something else in mind"?

Oh crap! I'm so sorry! I've gotten so many notes at a time. But we did have someone else working on the girl's room concept. We are almost done with the concept packet to hand off to you to model the girl's room tho. Again, really sorry I forgot to reply to your note >-<

No worries, I just didn't know what was happening. Great, looking forward to get it!

I really like the texturing you did for the bottom of the model and the concrete texture. I see two problems. The texture for the bottom of the roof is supposed to be wood and the wood in general doesn't look good. You're tiling your wood too much and the tiling shows. I think you need to scale your wood texture smaller and make sure that your tiling is perfect. For now it looks a bit flat without the normal maps and specular so I'm looking forward to seeing this model with those.

Thanks a lot for the critique! I can't say this enough times - it really REALLY helps when someone else points out what feels wrong from their perspective.
Very good points. I'm still working on something that works for the bottom of the roof. I'd rather not add more geometry, so I'm experimenting. I'll post some new renders soon. I also agree about the wood... absolutely not happy with that. Working on it.
Again, thanks a lot! I appreciate the feedback. Please don't stop

You're welcome!
I know, I really wish I would get more critic myself because it's very hard for you to criticize your own work. There are parts you spent so much time on and you can't see the problems anymore. Outside help is always great!
I can't remember what is the limit polycount for this piece. 3000 tris? I don't think you need more geometry than what you have here anyways.
No problem! I'm pretty busy but I'm always happy to help if I can!

this looks pretty good, but have some problems. the bottom side of the roof will not look like that, and you need to add some wooden construction parts to it. also, as for me, maybe you need to add AO to the stone parts of the model to make it look more different and intresting.
great job anyway

Thanks a lot for the suggestions! I agree, the entire roof still needs some tweaks. I'll work on the tiling not looking so obvious and add the wood beams underneath. I still have to do the normal maps for it, so the hopefully the entire thing will get more... "personality" Very good pointers, thanks!

Adorable! The curves make it whimsical. You put it under fan art . . . what's the franchise? I don't recognize it. Nicely done, though!

Thank you!
The concept is from ArenaNet, the guys making Guild Wars. Here's the link to the concept [link]
