Description
He doesn't have a name yet, and we're hoping that we can get him weaned and keep him as healthy as he seems to be now. Mom and I don't think the picture truly shows how tiny he is~not much smaller than Tiny Tommy (RIP).EDIT: He became Honey Bear, a name selected for his trip to the vet. Sadly, he was with us such a short time. We still grieve for him but delight in memories of this amazing little fellow who really was amazingly special.

I'm sorry for having missed your comment; I still find places I need to respond. If Mom and I can stay out of the hospitals, perhaps I can make some headway here at DA.
It was disheartening to lose Tiny Tommy; we would love to have kept him in with us but thought it would be best for him to remain with his mother. He was simply too frail to survive.
Then, Honey Bear left us after such a short stay.
However, Pumpkin Pye seems here to stay! He's helped soothe the pain of losing not only TT and Honey Bear but also several of our grown purrbabies. We'll never know where they ended up. At least the disappearances have stopped. ***Knock on wood!!!***

Yes, he is! He's growing so fast. His arrival anniversary will be on Sunday, a whole two weeks in which he has learned a lot and brought so much laughter to us.

We certainly hope he'll continue doing well. Our fear was failure to thrive because he was taken from his mother far too soon. But, he seems to accept that we're taking care of him 'round-the-clock. He settles down to sleep so easily, and he entertains himself by wrestling with Tiger and his mouse or simply rolling around being silly. He'd even sleep through eating if we'd let him. Then, when we wake him up, he's ravenous, acting as if "You're starving me!".
Today, Mom said that she set him on the floor to wander around a little, but she fell asleep. (She's almost 90.) When she woke up, she panicked, wondering where he was! She worried that he had gotten underneath furniture where it would be difficult to spot and retrieve him. Then, she saw some movement and saw that he was in front of the box she sometimes sets him in, rolling around, playing with a little fur mouse. "He's just amazing!" she said, and I agreed.
He is a remarkable little boy because he's so young yet is so adaptable and accepting of everything. After all, he's likely only about 3 1/2 weeks old! Wow! Does he have a good appetite! Only, he waves his little paws in the air since he's used to kneading Mommy while he nurses. Sometimes, if he's not too hungry, he doesn't do that. Other times, he acts frantic! Yet, he will fuss if you wake him up to eat.
Oh well... He deserves to be a bit bratty.

We certainly hope he will! Honey Bear has surprised us with his growth in only nine days. He's already up on all fours, not crawling around though not running around yet. He eats with a very good appetite, but he doesn't like his medicine. Still, he does let Mommy get the dropper I his mouth to take the tiny bit of antibiotic in a dose.
He's already figuring out what the litter box we made for him is for! He used to think he was being punished by being placed in the litter. Then, he thought it was something to play in. Now, we think he's understanding what is expected of him. We're so relieved that his body seems to be functioning as it should.
So, he's done an amazing job of adjusting from being some mother cat's baby to being an indoor kitty with two "mommies" to take care of him. It's a good thing that Mom is a morning lark and that I'm a night owl; we have him taken care of nearly 24 hours a day, minus a couple of hours in the bathtub when our schedules don't mesh. Mom said that, when she gets up, he's either sleeping or playing with Tiger or his mouse.

He's still doing great! We finally were able to go shopping, and I stocked up on formula though they had only the liquid form. We had to use another brand, purchased at a nearby store, to get him through a couple of days after the powder formula ran out; When I opened the can, we thought it looked watery and very unlike what we'd been feeding him. I don't think it's as good as the other, so I was happy to have him back on the thicker, creamier one. When I test the temperature with my finger, sometimes I taste it; the first type has a sweet, pleasant flavor, completely unlike the watery one. Well, he definitely seemed happy when he was switched back. He sleeps better, so maybe it's satisfying his little body.
He's also exploring more as he gets stronger. He'll climb out of his litter box and wander about till coming back to fight with my right foot. Then, he's ready to be held or to be placed in his basket for a long nap.

I just finished giving him his much-hated medicine then his much-loved formula. Now, it's time to place his basket in the bathtub so that I can get some sleep. My mother will take over at 6 a.m., meaning Honey Bear is very looked-after and quite spoiled.
Thank you for the luck wish!

He IS an adorable boy. When he looks at us with those big eyes, we melt! He's been our "purrbaby" for a whole week! It's amazing how much he's grown; his ears stand up more; and his eyes aren't just buttons but have a pupil and iris. Also, he's beginning to make friends with his "potty box". Before, it was as if I was tossing him to ravaging wolves! Then, he thought it was fun to play in. Now, I think he's suspecting what he can do.
Even when he makes a mess, he's so darn cute!

I know what you mean. I have an 11-year-old pom name Aubreea, and she is so accident prone, and has been since she was a puppy. There have been times when she's pissed me off by breaking something valuable, but one look at those regretful eyes of hers, and I'm toast! I cannot stay mad at her!

Yes, he is!
I'm so worried about him though. I am still shaken that he had that creature in his ear! He is so defenseless and so loving! Imagine: Not so long ago, he must have been hidden somewhere by his mother. But, someone interfered and left him on the back step. That's enough for a baby to go through. Then, tonight's nightmare...
He IS a sweety and doesn't deserve what happened!

I was expecting people might make suggestions. Actually, the tiny pads on his feet did make me think of itty bitty jellybeans!
Tyler?! That would be different. Why? I just wonder where it came from. I saw it and immediately thought, "Tippecanoe & Tyler, too!"
I'm not sure if he'll be long-haired enough to be a Samson.

I was worried because Mom really didn't want to take in another cat. But, she's in love with him! She keeps going on and on about how he doesn't cry, doesn't make fusses, and even eats without making a mess. Considering he has to eat from a kind of syringe use to give medicine to children, he does a great job; it has to be confusing because he waves his little paws in the air, obviously remembering how he had to knead Mommy to get milk. He really gets frantic at times, then we calm him down and get the nozzle back in his mouth. He can really get into it, and he sucks the milk hard enough that the plunger goes down by itself!
Right now, I have him in his basket to the left of me and the computer. I cleaned up Tiger, the white tiger toy that I bought long ago for Precious; it's not sharing the basket with him, comforting yet another little one. I just now stopped to take a couple of pictures of them; he's lying with his back along the toy.
He's going to need a better bath later, not just a washing-off; but, he's sleeping peacefully for now.

He's sleeping peacefully now. I hope he's going to be OK. I hope he doesn't have anymore horrors wriggling around in his tiny head! That's just not right! He deserves to be safe, warm, well-fed and loved, with no pain and fears.
I do have a bunch of pictures of him to work on, including his very funny attempts to bathe. Oh! He's so adorable when he does that!

It's not so long ago that we found Tiny Tommy's remains when we were going to go shopping. Oddly, that day I planned to buy formula to see if we could help Tommy get stronger. If things had been different, we already would have had formula to feed this little guy. As young as he is, he's actually close to Tommy's size though his legs are strong enough to get him much of anywhere. We knew Tommy was very undersized; now, this proves it. I think this kitten likely outweighs our lost boy.
Yes, he's adorable, and I knew I was going to find it hard to ignore his plight. We promised ourselves we wouldn't do it again. But, we admitted to each other that we couldn't bear to see this kitten die what would be a slow death.
We've also promised that, when spring comes, he'll be "fixed" and released to the outdoors. We'll have to see when the time comes whether we keep that promise.

one time, my Cat, Socks(because of her white paws. lol), had a litter of Kittens. for some reason after a few days they all died. we couldn't figure out why. maybe Socks was too young or maybe they weren't being fed. there was this white with brown spots who i named Brent(take a guess why) who was the only survivor. until the next day came when he died. now i don't have any Cats because...lets just say my jerk Dad hates anyone or anything that doesn't obey him. i always hope one day i have Cat that is as beautiful as Socks.^^ i understand the feeling.
