There are several kinds of kangaroos living in Australia; this one in particular is a Red Kangaroo.The red kangaroo is the largest marsupial in the world. Its legs are a big deal, as well, allowing it to reach speeds of more than 35 miles mph while being able to cover 25 feet in a single jump and 6 feet in height.
Here are some other facts about kangaroos in general:
-They have excellent hearing; their ears can swivel in different directions
-They're good swimmers too! Their powerful hind legs come in handy in the water just as much as on land
-There are only four species of kangaroo: Apart from the Red, there is also the Antilopine, the Eastern Grey and the Western Grey Kangaroos
-They are the largest animal on land to use hopping as a means of getting around
