A prompt on amino was to draw a background relating to the warriors universe. I really wanted to practice with trees so i decided to create this! Here is rusty in his nice peaceful moments before greypaw ruined it. I hope you all enjoy it~

Personally I'm not very good at backgrounds and environment art, really need to get myself to practice them more often. Maybe this is because I'm too afraid or lack confidence to attempt them lmao

Also, how long does something like this normally take?
I try to practice stuff like this (Just not nearly as good lol).
I just never have enough patience so I start to just rush it

its hard to say since this one was really on-off since i was busy. Simple backgrounds can take around 3-4 hours and i suspect this one due to the detail in the trees and stuff was around 8 hours total ??
Instead of doing a background all in one sitting try break it up or do other drawings inbetween, this will stop you from rushing it <3

I love this picture! I love how Rusty is walking away from the warm, safe and soft yellow colored place to the beautiful, exiting looking but mysterious forest away from his home. It really puts us in the picture and adds a beautiful and yet unknown atmosphere!

Glad you liked it! I really like analyzing pictures and seeing them belond the first glance. Recently because of life getting in the way I haven’t had much motivation to do that in a while. This one just made me have to look at it with depth!
