Here's a random tutorial for people who don't know how to disable comments. Or if you HAVE disabled comments, but can't remember because you haven't been on DA for a while, this is also for you. I hope you found it useful ^w^ And now a typical infomercial script.HEY PEOPLE ON DE INTERWEBZ/DEVIANTART!! Are you tired of haters commenting on your artwork? Do you wish they would stop, but they WON'T? Do you not want the hateful comments to get to you anymore? And do you WISH you can make them disappear, but you don't know how to make them disappear?? Well NOW you can! With this helpful tutorial, you won't have to deal with the haters anymore Remember, even though some of these are positive, some of them CAN be cruel.
Idk if somebody else did that, but I did one anyway

Edit 4, 5/11/2024: Oh my god, 76 faves on this old deviation?! Part of me is wondering if I should just reboot this tutorial so it's much MUCH easier to read xD But seriously, I was 14 years old when I made this, annoyed that there wasn't already a tutorial made on how to disable comments. But I am genuinely, genuinely amazed this has helped so many people out! Even one of the dA staff members noticed it

If you have blocked someone, can they still reply to comments made by you on their deviations or vice versa?
Ex. Persona A commented on one of Person B’s deviations, but then blocked Person B. Can Person B still reply to that comment?

Sadly no they can't. If Person B is blocked by Person A, then they can't view Person A's profile at all nor can they reply to their comment. In other words, once you're blocked you're blocked and you won't be able to see their activity.

You can disable comments on deviations one at a time, but I don't know about disabling them on your wall. The only solution is to flag the comments as spam and block the said trolls. It might not work but trolls are going to be here EVERYWHERE. You can't get rid of them and go "If you even try to bother me again, I'm calling the cops, my friend can hack your accounts" because the trolls might just create another account; they're like a virus. The trolls WANT you to get pissed, they WANT you to try to find ways to get rid of them... I understand this is stressing you out, I really do. I've been in your situation before. The best thing to do is just ignore the trolls and move on. Trust me, it's not easy, I've had to deal with it too. I didn't think it could work when a friend told me to ignore a troll, but it can work.
I'm sorry if my advice sucks and it sounded really petty but that's the best I got. I hope everything works out, and remember to keep your head up.

no its okay, its good advice, I wish I could just magic them away though as what they're doing is pathetic.. and my friend has actually did that before, he virused a trolls computer who was harassing me and I haven't seen them since come back, and I doubt the people who are doing it is them as this was years back and they were like 17-18 and I hardly think it would be them now as no person in their late 20's would do this and I have blocked them, but they keep coming back on separate accounts

I honestly don't blame you, I mean, I wish LIFE in general we could just make our problems disappear with the snap of our fingers. And you have a really solid friend there, putting viruses in trolls' computers. I legitimately wish I could help you out because if I'd learn hacking skills I'd teach them a lesson... in viruses.
If they keep bothering you, maybe you could move accounts/make a new account? I mean, like I said trolls are gonna be everywhere on the internet but it might work. You don't have to if you don't want to, it's just a suggestion

I really cant abandon this account and make a new account as I only have this email and I really dont to just make a new account and set up another Da as I cant admit defeat like that, if they bother me some more they'll get their just desserts in the form of a virus or two, I once saw my friend do it and its amazing how he does it, like he's the tech wizard to end all tech wizards

Moving accounts isn't necessarily called "admitting defeat", it's just called trying to start a new life on dA. If you can, you can create a new email account. Unless that won't work either, then I really don't know what else to say, I'm sorry.
If you REALLY want to get rid of these trolls, I'd suggest learning some hacking skills from your friend or something

they'd probably just come back tbh, as they find everyone on Deviantart and also Deviantart doing the these watchers are new thing they'd fine that new account in a heart beat and maybe, I'll more than likely go dead for a while and wait for them to give up

Is there a function to disable users from commenting on an Artwork anymore but leaving the current comments already posted?

Yes there is. If that specific person/troll left out a rude comment or something, you can always just block them. Just go to "Settings" below your account, click on "General", and scroll down until you see "Blocked Users". Type the person's username you want blocked, then click Save. I hope this answers your question ^^

No sorry, I meant block "all" users from commenting on a artwork but leave the current comments.
I have a few artworks I do not want anymore comments on but I want the current comments to be able to be read.
I am pretty sure I have seen someone do this but they may have been a Core member...

Oh I see... correct me if I'm wrong, but you do not want anyone to comment on your artwork, yet you want to leave the comments as they are? And by all users, do you mean everyone, or just the people on your watchers list? I'm sorry, I'm a bit confused
I'm pretty sure this is a core thing but I have no idea. I would suggest asking that person who did this and maybe you'll get the answer?
